This is my first ever collaboration with @AWITW (A Walk in the Woods) a.k.a. Nico from France. He has been kind enough to feature a couple of my songs on his record label @goldenforestrecords, but we never worked together until now.

Following up the band's last single 'How It Starts' (released November 2024), 'Nettle' sees waverley. setting folk-ballad inspired songwriting against their trademark backdrop of loud guitars and audacious drums, and features a delicate Cello arrangement by Pete Harvey (King Creosote, Modern Studies, Snow Patrol, Emma Pollock).The band began working on ‘Nettle’ near the end of summer 2023, as they were gearing up to the release of their first EP in November of that year;

"We knew from the outset that this was going to be a standout within our catalogue, so we extensively workshopped and refined it over the following months. Recording the song on a snowy January day at a remote Scottish studio, the song was a true collaborative effort between the band and producer Graeme Young - who brought in Pete Harvey to create the incredible Cello ensemble arrangement that underpins the whole song."
