A project unveiled for the first time last summer, Solid Grooves' 'Raw Grooves' series welcomed the first-ever Various Artists project on sister label Solid Grooves Raw, and in the process introduced a slick selection of grooveheavy, stripped back yet powerful cuts from some of the label's core family members and closest friends.

Now back for its second installment, early-May sees label favourites Eddy M, Blackchild (ITA), and Ramin Rezaie joined by a wealth of leading names and rising talents as they welcome UK hotshot Latmun for his label debut, South Coast duo Prok | Fitch, who step out on sister label Raw for the first time following their huge single 'Indiance', recent Solid Grooves debutant Wheats, returning Manchester-based talent Kreature, and fast-rising London pairing, Antss and Ash-R.

Rising British house producer Tim Taylor makes his debut on Hot Creations this May with the four-track Do You Like...EP. The release continues a standout 2021 schedule for the young talent that has seen him deliver on Deeperfect Shift already this year.

Tim described the inspiration behind the release, stating: “For the entire EP, I was thinking what would sound cool if it was played live by Jamie. I have always loved the darker, funky music he plays and it inspired me massively for this EP.”

Do You Like sets the pace, pairing prominent kicks with a spiralling acid-twinged bassline. Check It soon arrives, taking on a deep-tech-inspired feel with pummelling drum patterns before Scratch strips things back, featuring subtle hats and minimal-tones throughout. Vibrate brings things to a close, a late-night dance floor number that showcases the up-and-coming Brit at his best.

Tim Taylor has taken the UK electronic music scene by storm in recent years. At twenty-one years old, the young upstart has already landed a Beatport top 10 placing thanks to his 2018 release Everybodies Talking. His edit of Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean has amassed more than three million plays online, whilst performances at clubbing institutions such as London’s 93 Feet East and Manchester’s Gorilla have helped propel him into the UK spotlight. Backed by an array of well-established talents in the contemporary dance sphere, including Jamie Jones and Michael Bibi, 2021 looks set to be Tim’s biggest year yet with a soon-to-be-announced UK tour.

Antss makes a quick return to Solid Grooves Raw as he drops his first solo material on the label, ‘Stopp’.

A regular across London’s house scene, and a hot tip to watch for the remainder of 2021, bubbling DJ/producer Antss is a name quickly racking up a following as he begins to establish himself as a serious up-and-coming talent via a string of impressive releases. Fresh from a recent debut outing on Solid Grooves Raw alongside partner in crime ASH-R, early June welcomes his first single on the label as he reveals the driving ‘Stopp’.

Fusing rubbery bass patterns, crisp metallic drum shots, rumbling low-ends, and hooky vocal interjections, the lively ‘Stopp’ showcases an up-front, no-nonsense dancefloor weapon perfectly at home on the imprint.

Jamie Jones and Lee Foss’ label Hot Creations will deliver a combined EP by Aix en Provence-based DJ and producer MALIKK and Marseille-born duo Chicks Luv Us in August. Bridging chunky tech house with dub techno, Can We Dance displays their collective love for bright and playful beats. 

Detailing their joint efforts on Can We Dance, Chicks Luv Us say they teamed up with MALIKK because they “wanted to produce a track inspired by acid house music, pop and urban pop from the 90s, mixing with sound from today.” On the title track, the producers work in symbiosis to create a club-driven chunker with chopped-up vocal samples and a squishy bassline. Bouncy ‘til the last beat. On the B-side, Chicks Luv Us drop a Balearic-flavoured banger with Makelene. High-pitched vocals pulsate throughout the track, as huge kickdrums and playful sound FX amp up the energy. MALIKK offers a quirky closing track on Walkie Talkie, packed with punchy drums, bleepy percussion and techy vocals—perfectly aligned with Hot Creations’ colourful aesthetic. 

Chicks Luv Us are two Marseille-born pals with a penchant for groovy house and minimal techno. Their back catalogue echoes the textures that bring them together as producers, with releases on Loco Dice’s Desolat, Steve Lawler’s Viva Limited and many more. They cut their teeth in DJing during their residency at Spartacus Club in Cabriès in the south of France from 2009 and 2018. Today, the pair continue to grow a legion of international fans while finessing their craft in the studio, and soundtracking dancefloors worldwide. MALIKK is an Aix en Provence-based artist whose early appreciation for 80’s disco, funky and soul still occasionally seeps into his current club-focused music. Previous releases on Hot Creations, Hottrax, Toolroom, and Solotoko display his multi-dynamic palette, nodding to several genres and moods. Having played in Brazil, Argentina, Spain, Belgium, Netherlands and his native France, MALIKK’s DJ sets reflect his fun and explorative approach, marking him as one of Aix en Provence’s finest exports.

Sidney Charles' Heavy House Society labels turns up the heat for the summer with a new release from the head honcho himself. His previous release on the label garnered heavyweight support and acclaim from DJs and dance floors alike and his recent remix for powerhouse Ibiza brand, Do Not Sleep, is currently smashing the specialist store charts, and Charles has wasted no time in keeping the output and pressure up. It's quite clear what the prolific Berlin based producer has been up to during lockdown.

For his second release on his label, he has brought in the incredibly talented Black Loops, who is well known for his slick productions on labels such as PIV, Toy Tronics, Gruuv, Pets Recordings and Freerange to name just a few. 

The title track of the EP, Swing Theory, is a delectable cut of minimal deep house. With shuffling hats, skipping beats, a grooving bassline combining with searing pad washes, short plucky chords and lead line, it delivers 7 minutes of groove in its purest form.

Having built himself a solid reputation as one of House music's most creative and progressive producers, Black Loops continues that form with an impressive rework of Swing Theory. He funks up the groove on the bassline, works in the key elements of Charles' original and adds an outstanding deep house cut to the package.

The third track, Sin City, is another deep and minimal house cut with intricate and delicately arranged chords, leads and beats, with ambient pads in the background, which stands tall amongst the rest
