Born out of a desire for expression after the pandemic, Irish Goodbye is a manifesto of Heavy Weather's sonic vision. Honest earthy vocals span ethereal guitar melodies and a driving rhythm section, amounting to a unique flavour of anthemic indie. Irish Goodbye paints the angst of estranging from a companion, diarising the frustrations of modern relationships. A song suited to frame the new generation of alternative and indie, the release will be marked with a show at Nice 'n Sleazy on 16/12.

The sweetness of doing nothing is a manifestation of finding peace in the mundane. In a life that can feel like existing as a cog in a never tiring engine, the song is an ode to seeking solace in the smaller things and accepting the need to stop for a second and enjoy what’s around you. A halt to the pressure of constantly doing and feeling and simply existing in your surroundings and feeling grateful for being.
A delicate and intricate verse grips and leads the hand into a euphoric chorus, crafted for the sunset laden summer evening and embraces spent with those you love. The song washes with melodic guitar riffs and soft acoustic tones, then surmounts into a crescendous singalong chorus deserved to be bellowed back on a summer festival night. Taking influence from 90s alternative and the shoegaze movement, washed out and delayed vocals tease and build towards the end of the song and leads you back for a final exclamation of the message of the song to finish, The Sweetness of Doing Nothing.

Heavy Weather have wasted no time since forming in 2023. They’ve continued to impress with a stormy and infectious appeal at packed out venues such as King Tut’s, La Belle Angele, Nice n’ Sleazy and a sold-out headline show at Sneaky Pete’s.

The Heavy Weather sound draws sonic qualities from a range of acts such as Fontaines D.C., Radiohead, Jeff Buckley and Kasabian. The product being a moody and gritty soundscape combined with anthemic, singalong choruses which engross and energise the crowd at their raucous live shows. 

2025 marks a statement of intent for Heavy Weather, this is showcased by accolades such as playlisting on BBC “Introducing in Scotland", forming part of the bill on This Feeling's "Big in '25" and performing at the prestigious Isle of Wight festival. The flagship for their ambition will be in the form of the debut EP “And Now The Weather” which will stand as a testament to the Heavy Weather sound and manifesto.
