During the summer of 2023, @Meraque embarked on a tour, performing at numerous festivals and venues: Wildeburg, Landjuweel, de Lievelinge and many more. Their live shows allow for extensive improvisation, resulting in many exhilarating moments. To share these captivating moments with a wider audience, Mèraque releases these highlights in this Live EP in collaboration with @soundofaroma, @soulsafari and @krooks-amsterdam. In the live version of "Kabanova," a marvellous guitar solo enriches the experience, and the crowd's harmonious singing echoes at the track's conclusion. "Volci," a standout piece, underwent a significant transformation during the last summer tour. With the addition of Talal Fayad to the band, enchanting ud solos now infuse the track with unprecedented color.

Inspired by a tribe from Papua New Guinea, featuring artist @soundofaroma composed "Huli." In this live version, Mèraque adds their signature touch with clarinet and saxophone melodies, oriental guitar patterns, and dynamic rhythms, creating an exotic and danceable vibe.

The new track "Isla" is a captivating journey with flowing percussion, where the guitar and saxophone seamlessly groove. Warm vocals add depth, building tension until a soulful saxophone solo emerges, leading to a melancholic climax where all elements harmoniously converge.

My heart is shattered witnessing what is happening in Palestine, but not only: there are many wars ongoing all around the globe and one child in six lives in a war zone. 🥺

As a human being, I find myself questioning what I can do to put an end to this spiral of violence and hatred that is claiming the lives of too many individuals. As an artist, I am contemplating how I can be of assistance.

I have created a music track "Cease Fire Now!" to process the pain and frustration I am experiencing in the face of helplessness and indifference.

In one month I have recollected some donations via Bandcamp I am sending to @everychildismychildets fundraising campaign to support child that lives in warzone.

Liebe, Leidenschaft, Musik, Freunde, Natur und schöne Visionen.
Es ist sehr schön zu sehen, wie sich unser Projekt Concrete Jungle mit diesen Zutaten so toll entwickelt hat. 2015 die ersten Veranstaltungen zusammen mit Anne und Jac, das Gründen einer Podcast Reihe, viele weitere Veranstaltungen und tolle Abende zusammen mit Olli, Andrea, Arne und Tiziana. Das Zusammentreffen mit Moritz, woraus eine so tolle, intensive Zusammenarbeit und Verbundenheit entstanden ist. WOW. 

So freut es uns umso mehr, unsere Musik ab sofort auf allen Plattformen zu sehen und zu hören. Hört doch gerne mal bei Bandcamp, Beatport, Spotify und Co. rein. Vielleicht ist auch für Euch etwas dabei.

Das Ganze wird noch garniert mit einem tollen neuen Label Artwork und frisch gestalteter Homepage. Diese gibt auch ein paar Einblicke hinter die Kulissen und schöne Eindrücke unserer Arbeit. So kann man dort ab sofort zum Beispiel auch offiziell ein Track oder Set Mastering buchen. Danke Moritz für Deine wertvolle Arbeit und das schöne Ergebnis.
