My My Bye Bye 2004

This month, we explore the concept of anicca, the Buddhist word for impermanence or change. The mix weaves through sounds that are bombastic vs modest, dark vs light, groovy vs trippy, haunting vs heavenly, and so on...My approach to DJing is to keep sounds and feelings in a constant state of flux, never getting stuck in a single place. I believe a well-crafted mix is a metaphor for life: anicca, anicca...constantly changing, changing...

We recently discovered NY-based Yanay and immediately liked her infectious personality and positive outlook.  We asked her to cook up a mix for Bespoke Musik Radio -- and she delivered this gorgeous, emotional, and beautiful set. Looking forward to hearing more from this talented DJ and emerging producer.

Cuban-born DJ, singer and songwriter Yanay has been rising amongst the ranks of house and techno DJs, leaving her unique mark on the rapidly growing scene.
 
Her love and passion for music shine through her art.  She will hypnotize you with her sensuous melodies and captivating percussion. She creates a vibe that cannot be replicated. Music is all about a feeling and she will take you on a magical journey.

One of her greatest strengths as a DJ is reading a crowd. Her trademark #bringyourdancingshoes is sure to deliver. When Yanay’s not manning the decks you can find her entranced in the middle of the dance floor.

She’s currently working on music production and learning sound design at Dubspot NY. With upcoming collaborations on Suara  and Maya Records, it’s no secret she’s been a busy girl.

You can find Yanay playing regularly at Provocateur and Cielo in New York City.

Jennifer Cardini is a French DJ, producer, label owner, and electronic-music lifer now based in Berlin, Germany.
Cardini long since outgrew Pulp – the Parisian club where she first made her name – and set off on a mission to take her vision of house music to audiences around Europe and beyond. Over the course of a career spanning of fifteen years, she has delivered DJ sets fusing techno, electro and disco at the world’s most prestigious clubs (Panorama Bar in Berlin, De School in Amsterdam, Lux in Lisbon, Good Room in New York) and hottest festivals (Melt, Nuit Sonores, Burning Man). Yet her dancefloor philosophy is reflected not only by her sets and the music released on her labels, including electro imprint Correspondant and the more indie-oriented Dischi Autunno but also by her engagement in support of the LGBT-community. Based in Berlin following six years in Cologne, Jennifer Cardini continues traveling all around the world transmitting her love for music to us through the dance floor!
