Like every end of the year we present our new installment of the Rebirth Essentials collection, including our best releases of the last 12 months plus some unreleased material.

Coming from Rotterdam, Arp Frique’s music is original and made with live instruments. “Shangaan Time” is exotic with a touch of psychedelic weirdness. Raffaele ‘Whodamanny’ Arcella slows it building a cosmic disco groove on a funky bass line.
Taken from his debut album, “City” by ILO is a journey through his musical soundscapes: warm sounds vibrating beats, deep synth tones and old-school house mash-ups.  
“A Mente Delira” is a collaborative project between the italian producer Ayala and post punk Brazilian Vocalist Abrão, perfectly remixed by Musumeci. An hypnotic and psychedelic song that was big last summer, anticipating their debut album in 2024.
The ukranian producer Komilev debuts on Rebirth with the amazing vocal cut “Real Life”, while Kadosh, one of the best names to come out of the Tel Aviv scene, unleashes the strong track  “Love Triangle”.
Corrado Bucci’s homage to the “Yushan Hu” Lake is a track where the peaceful  atmosphere collides with a punchy sound.

The collection include also unreleased material from Shield & Robytek, Yotam Avni & Tuccillo, Marc Gonen, Mata Jones & Mikey V and Morris T.

II Faces is making its debut on FUNKiMAN with the 'Magic Garden EP'. Straight from Paris, representing the French underground club sound. The EP comes with two mouthwatering floor fillers, starting of with a dreamy and yet energetic track called 'New Past' and finishing of with the soulful 'Magic Garden' which will make you groove all night. Rooted in electronic music yet fueled with organic sounds of nature and acoustic instruments, Late Present explores sonic landscapes beyond Mirlaqi's signature dance moves.

Journeying between jazzy hip-hop, psychedelic downtempo and colorful ambient, the twelve-piece work aims at a thorough and sincere representation of the Swiss artist's musical soul. With simple themes such as love and loss as well as a poetic approach to the inexorable coming of our end, the double LP is a reflection on the unicity of consciousness.

As always with Mirlaqi, talented and caring friends bring their energy and craft to the project. Antoine "Favi" Favennec's sense of melody adds another level of emotion to Passager de la Terre, Velvet Love and Riddimer. Thomas "Nips" Abbet's soft as silk trumpet sound delves deeper in the jazzy horizon of Caucasian Tree and Inter Lux. Augustin "Gus" Von Arx's various percussion turns the heat up on Prendre le Soleil. Finally, Tim Spoerli's uncompromised trumpet experience overwhelms Prendre le Soleil in glitters.

On the vocal level, Mirlaqi explores various dimensions of expression through spoken words and processed singing, as well as French and English vocals. In Passager de la Terre, Velvet Love and Prendre le Soleil, he receives passionate support from Alice Moeschinger and her touching yet strong crystalline voice.

Once again, fainek's graphic and conceptual talent turns sound into vision with style. A true masterclass of artistic depth combined with visual clarity.

A multi-layered project to be savoured over and over again.
