Zen Baboon are Daniel Rosado and Henrique Palhavã. Both were born in the '70s in Portugal and since an early age kept a close connection with the musical world, focusing on great sound quality and original construction.

Daniel is a sound engineer that worked in a studio in Lisbon and started producing electronic music in the late 90′s.  Henrique, a zoologist, lives and works in his own farm and started as an ambient DJ, (DJ Henriq) and producer in 2001.

They got together in 2003 and decided to melt their musical preferences and create Zen Baboon.

This time it will be a weekend of oldschool Psytrance and it is a special pleasure for me to present an artist whose stories from the beginnings of psytrance are particularly exciting because he does without these romanticizing pink glasses that many others wear in the figurative sense. Djamstore Beats has besides many stories also a huge collection of Goatrance and has prepared a mix with a selection of songs, all except two only released on vinyl, which is rare in today's digital music world and especially in the psytrance scene. So get ready to be guided into the weekend by beautiful and perfectly selected psychedelic music. The mix is definitely more than just a history lesson, it shows how creative and innovative psychedelic music has been in the old days.
So just turn it on, listen and enjoy.

Dieses Mal wird es zum Wochenende oldschoolig und es ist mir eine besondere Freude einen Künstler zu präsentieren, dessen Geschichten von den Anfängen des Psytrances besonders spannend sind, weil er auf diese romantisierende rosa Brille verzichtet die viele andere im bildlichen Sinne tragen. The idea behind it is firstly the support of muscians from the underground who should get much more attention then they get atm and the second reason for making this Podcast Series is that I am a really big music nerd (mostly electronic music) and with this podcast it is very easy to life that out (I know as a DJ this is also easy, but for me Djing is more kind of a hobby which I do a bit in my freetime).
