Los Chalacas - A trip to Lobitos, Peru, ignited a love for cumbia in el jefe, who returned to Denver, Colorado, a changed man.  He wouldn’t shut up about it, so his dub loving amigos joined him in the studio to have a go at this shit. The tendency to get a bit skanky with it was welcomed, and here’s what happened. One dandy afternoon at Silo Sound in Denver, 2014, recorded to tape… stepping over Hammonds and Clavinets to get to the loo… now maybe some day we’ll wrap er up! If not, enjoy the work in eternal progress that is the result of a pack of best bud gringos who just discovered the joy of cumbia/chicha - of the many forms of stunning music from Peru ❤️
