Charlie Alone

I recorded this song by Frank Zappa just for fun back in September 2010. I've always loved this song and it's lyrics. Unfortunately I'm not much of a singer, so I replaced all the vocal parts with keyboards. By the way, there're no programmed instruments in this song. Yours truly went out on a limb and played them all. The original is from Mothers of Invention's album We're Only in It for the Money from 1968, so I went for an older, not so polished, sound for the song.

(This scale is the eighteenth scale in a book I'm working on.)

Section 8 is a band project I've been working on for approximately four years now. I've been taking my time with it, so it'd be as good as it can be when it's ready for the limelight. It might yet be another four years, who knows.

Quite evidently this stuff has a noticeable Meshuggah-vibe to it. It's a deliberate decision, as I've called this band a "Meshuggah tribute band, that plays original music" on several occasions.

The solo is something I just threw there (after three years of guitar playing). First take, no edits.
