Apex of the Sun's Way [Off Out 001]

Feel the rhythm take over with “Funky Bongos”, a groovy tech house track full of funky percussion, rolling basslines, and bouncy bongos that keep the energy flowing from start to finish.

Inspired by the sounds of ANOTR, PAWSA, Chris Stussy, Toman, and Prunk, this track delivers that signature Amsterdam groove. 

Expect tight drums, organic rhythm, and a funky flow that turns any set into a party. “Funky Bongos” brings the rhythm.

Do you believe in conincidences?

I don’t - anymore. I used to believe in conincidences but I’ve learned that everything happens for a reason. And that everything in life happens for you, not to you.

So, I have been busying myself with the idea of an remix album of classic tracks of mine for quite some time. But I struggled with the selection of tracks and which remix artist to pair with which track.  Until certain people entered my life. Some of them I only „met“ through their music on social media and never in person, others I met briefly, like in a car to a festival and some I started to hang out with and they became real life friends. All of these people connect with my music and I feel drawn to their music and in many ways we insprire each other.  As a natural result this remix EP took shape and I am excited to present it to you. The record contains four remixes of tracks from my back catalogue that cover a period of 20 (!) years, from my early days on Bush in the mid 90s to my first label Spiel-Zeug Schallplatten in the 00`s up until now, where I run Electric Ballroom from Berlin. Kanzleramt presents ‘Consistency Remixes’, a three track remix EP of as-yet unreleased Ray Kajioka originals, hinting at new material on its way soon from the Berlin-based artist and Kanzleramt mainstay.
The EP will land on vinyl in September of 2016 and features remixes from Detroit legend Rolando, as well as The Persuader (aka Jesper Dahlbäck) and Kanzleramt label-head Heiko Laux.

Milan based collective Just This return with their biggest compilation yet, a twelve track package featuring varied entries from label regulars and esoteric talents alike. JT022 is due for release July 13th.

Melodic fragments and melancholic harmonies spiral through ricocheting drums and marching kicks. Contributions from Skudge, Hiver, Hunter/Game, Artefakt, Pizetsky and many more combine to forge a formidable package channelling moody, hypnotic techno for darkened dancefloors.

The Shadow Bubble EP is a three-tracker with textured and deep soundscapes. Monument premiere the album's dreamy but dark closing track Hyperspace. The EP is out on January 15th.

@made-of-concrete kickstart 2020 with a long-awaited release from Alek S, one year after his latest EP. He’s joined by Sascha @rydell, one of his favourite artists, taking on remix duties.

Deep and dubby, immersive and dance-inducing - these coordinates can always be found in Alek S productions and this release makes no exception. 'Far Outside' introduces the deep atmospherics, with its metallic elements and slow burning melody, while 'Sweatbox' creates an entrancing mood with its timbered percussion and pulsating lead. 'Ostkreuz' stands for the dubby, restrained piece, with tempered percussion and bassline that give a womb-like feeling. Sascha Rydell’s rework of 'Sweatbox' rounds up the release in a dynamic manner, with a full-force techno heavy hitter.

Mathias Kaden returns to Rekids with four-track EP ‘Control Your Mind’, featuring a remix from Marcel Dettmann.

Previously appearing on Rekids in 2019 with his ‘Liberate Drums’ EP, Mathias Kaden makes his second appearance on Radio Slave aka Matt Edwards’ label with four original tracks of razor sharp material, as well as a remix from Berghain resident Dettmann.

‘Control Your Mind’ opens with the impeccably produced title track, an electro flecked roller. Featuring hypnotic synth work and subtle automated inflections, the cut effortlessly glides, peppered with the occasional titular vocal refrain from Sven Väth puncturing the groove. Shifting into 4/4 territory is ‘Conviction’, a restrained but stunningly effective track that makes full use of memorable off-beat synth stabs and shimmering 909 percussion to constantly drive the track forward.

On the flip, Berghain resident Marcel Dettmann turns up the heat with his remix of ‘Control Your Mind’. Filtering the vocals, the MDR and BAD MANNERS boss also delivers a resonant bassline that works in tandem with knocking percussion, as creeping pads morph and evolve over the duration of the track, creating a trippy and propulsive banger.

Classic dub techno aesthetics are front and centre in ‘Substance’, a track destined for the golden hours between late at night and early in the morning, while finishing the package in fine style, the digital only ‘Anticipation’ showcases Kaden’s skill in crafting a killer peak time track, adding a welcome bonus of yet another weapon for USBs worldwide.
