I’ve always been a huge fan of soul, blues and funk music. When I composed Devil Brothers, I wanted to make something super groovy, but I missed something, until I discovered the Nevilles Brothers a funk/soul American band from the 80’s. Their voice was the little element I missed, so I sampled it. And here we come.

​​Null Acht Fünfzehn, a German expression pointing out how average or mediocre something is. Not worth mentioning let's say.. which is an exact contradiction of what they have done with their brand new EP.

Consisting of members from Brigade and Kahl & Kamaena, this Berlin threesome hooked up 2 years ago and used their time to perfect the art of creating subtle music with maximum efficiency.

Although they may present it as somewhat underwhelming and not too serious, what these three buddies have to offer is nothing less than impressive. Slowed down, ghostly yet truly effective electronic work that's ready to fog up the dance floor.

Ok, we admit that we might not be the fastest nor the brightest. We are however, the dearest ❤️ One thing was close to our hearts since a year now.  @oberst_und_buchner and @theodor.meier each conjured up a remix to our debut album AA+, which was released in 2020. We have somehow only now managed to finish the whole thing. We can’t really tell whether Corona or the general melancholy was to blame, but the main thing is that these 2 remixes finally see the light of day.

For the 23rd EP on Heimlich Musik, Franz Matthews collaborates with label veteran Johannes Klingebiel and Berlin-based multi-instrumentalist Semodi, delivering two original mixes accompanied with remixes by Random Atlas and Balam. 

"Signs“ is the result of a spontaneous collaboration between Franz Matthews and Johannes Klingebiel which started after a few drinks and builds on instrumental recordings. A powerful bassline and melancholic pads are used to reflect the message of the vocals to welcome the unexpected signs of life in a positive way. 
Evolving from a long-lasting friendship with Semodi, "Law of Attraction“ is an enchanting arrangement carried by a subtle guitar and vocals about rewiring your own behavioral patterns for a more fulfilling existence. 

Chilean duo Random Atlas pick up the bassline and main theme of "Signs“ in their remix while their powerful signature disco sound is magnified by the use of additional drum elements, analog synth lines, and electric guitars.
Balam recreates "Law of Attraction“ as an ecstatic club track based on hypnotic drums while keeping the spirit of the original, rounding up the EP as a whole.

Remixing two of the original mixes of Constantijn Lange's album 'Liquide' Tony Y Not and Ryan Haeng create their very own interpretations by adding a unique touch each going different ways. While Tony Y Not combines the main theme of 'Barefoot' with a more than mighty bassline she builds up an arrangement made for the dance floor carried by an energetic acid synth. Ryan Haeng slows down 'Three Hundred and Sixty Oranges', adopts percussive elements and transforms the original mix into a melancholic but powerful version making use of a crunchy bass synthesizer rounded up by string chords, goosebumps guaranteed.

The second collection of remix interpretations of @constantijnlange’s ‚Liquide‘ consists of contributions by Arutani, Johannes Ton and Transient Lines. 

Arutani leaves his footprint with his version of ‚Infinite Water‘ combining a housy drum set with the original’s melody section while using a punchy bassline for a 100% dance floor ready composition.

Creating a mood that feels weird in a good way Johannes Ton uses organic percussions and drum elements to add some extra punch without losing track of the vibe of the original mix. 

Vienna’s Transient Lines rounds up the second remix EP of ‚Liquide‘ with an arrangement built on complex drums and heavy basslines painting a unique picture that feels light and melancholic at the same time.

Constantijn Lange - Mosaic (Transient Lines Remix)

After making a name in the last years with various energetic releases artists Heidenreich and ANGST vor GRETA are teaming up to deliver an EP for Heimlich Musik with remix contributions by Niv Ast and I Promised Mom.
Zarathustra is built on synthesizers touched by the 80s and vocal lines with a pinch of Donna Summer. Arpeggio basslines and aggressive snares are rounding up the original mix to create a special vibe of euphoria. Visage is taking no detour on its way to the dance floor with powerful drums and ANGST vor GRETA's signature vocals supported by strong but playful lead synthesizers.
Niv Ast picks up the main theme of the original mix of Zarathustra in his remix and adds spaced-out detuned synthesizers for an extra amount of insanity while I Promised Mom's interpretation of Visage is an evil banger emphasizing all the darkness of the original mix.
