We’re back! And the latest instalment of the Mustard Mix comes courtesy of Lazer Man -  a chap who’s sound we’ve recently come across, but it’s very much a big bit of Musty.

Following on from Velvet Velour’s wonderful journey, this is another 100% productions mix. So expect electro with an emotive and darker edge, along with some unreleased and near releases from the man himself.

Lazer Man grew up in Lyon in the 90’s, ears deep in electronic music almost before he could talk. He never really looked back.

A producer and selector with a wide radar, he moves across the full spectrum, from the darkest electro to tech house pulsations, through more mystical and emotional territories. His thing? Channeling a certain energy, something ominous but alive, always taking time to draw you in.

He just founded Earth Revenge with a recent first release. He also co-runs Spooky Wooky alongside his brother vampire Gogo Gadgeto, a duo that seems to have made the underground nights their natural habitat.

Here is a fully homegrown-mix, containing 100% self-produced material, nothing but his own heat and sweat.

Voltage Desire is a five-track EP from Lazer Man moving between raw tension and subtle warmth.

Side A opens with "Woman's Need", an electro house cut built around a rock-inflected bassline and guitar tones that carry a dusty, wide-open edge. "Reactivation" follows with a deeper, more hypnotic approach: pitched-down vocals loop and drift over chords that keep pulling you further in. Side A closes with "Sunris Techy", the most groove-driven of the three, a funky bassline locked in dialogue with shifting synthlines and samples. 

Side B shifts into collaborative territory. "Sweet Tide", produced under the Wave Catchers alias with Baldov, is a nostalgic track that will awaken past memories and feelings. The record closes with "Idée Discousu", a co-production with Koffi that blends synthpop with a spooky edge and a story told through vocoder.
