I don't know what to say, I'm out of tears by now. 
Each day is just a struggle, wished you were here back home.

Our baby is still drinking and grandma's leg is fine,
but the boy is missing you, alone he cries.

Three new chicks have hatched that I can write about. 
The geese still on their nest, maybe next week we will know.

Things are going on here, things you need not know.
We've managed to survive, so far, tomorrow, who will know.

Men that have no foe fight strangers they don't know
and each would rather be in their own home.

Instead when they return, their legs left in the snow,
no arms to hold their children and their eyes no longer glow.

What does it mean to win, each side already lost.
Do those that give the orders know how much pain they cause. 

Our son has lost his voice now, he'd seen too much to bear,
and when I set the table he stares at your empty chair.

The boy next door came back, in a box, the other day.
We've lined the street and paid respect and in silence we all prayed.

Don't come home in a box, dear, there are no flowers for a grave.
We've picked them all, the fields are bare and we could have used some more.

The chicken thieves come as they please, even took the washing line.
The shops stripped bare, all plundered now, as they ship their loot away.

The town you knew is gone and rubble fills the lanes,
the street-signs only hint of where things were before they came.

I know I can not send this, you will read between the lines.
My burden is not yours to bear, it's so heavy on my mind.

Each shot I hear I tremble, for it's another mother's son,
and she'll wail in pain and grieve for years not knowing why it's done.

So instead I write I miss you, ache to hold you in my arms.  
We're all fine, please do not worry, don't come to any harm.

Guard the man that i married, he's the hero i adore.
Let no evil get inside you, with your light protect your core.  

Rest in knowing that I love you, that i'm always at your side.
Shared embrace over far distance, stay safe my dear, survive.  

We're on this earth a short while, on land we can never own,
the earth owns us, alive or dead, whichever flag is flown.

Is not the pain the same whatever side you're on?
What we had destroyed or plundered and so many loved ones gone.

The so-called 'leaders' hide in mansions play with lives they do not own,
and infect us with the evil seeds of the games they play alone.

And like rats follow the piper, but the piper's not in front,
always far from the living hell they cause, they never bear the brunt.

They are always well protected and their children safe and sound,
while their subjects wail in agony on blood-soaked foreign ground.

The first you’ll like, my skirt from school,
still fits me now, come have a peak,
the blouse too from time long gone
in purest white, unbuttoned some
The last one shows, I’m lying down
exhausted from the heat 
Ooops, had to lift my skirt a bit
to let my bottom breathe

I ache for scent of rose

But rose I only have but one
and once you’ve seen you’ll leave,
alone I’ll cry and you’ll know why
for I shall miss you terribly

Three-hundred pictures, all of you
not one of all of you
a 100 bucks a pop I spent
and slowly getting broke

I know, dear darling, you’ve been good
with dream I woke this morn
that you sold house and all you have

for you did promise that you would

that’s all I have to bid
my fee will fall with each new fold,
some years from now none want to see
a girl that has grown old
And may I say what you don’t know
your swipes does feed my family,
it helps my son and guarantees
he’ll not be stupid as I am
His path to university
for that I sell all that I can
to lift him from our poverty
this is my driving force, my friend
Perhaps the pictures that you have
can help sustain the bliss you ache
but if they don’t, learn what I know
your heaven is a fantasy

What would you do?

What would you do if you were told
you have 5 minutes to get old,
and then your time is over?
Suppose one said, that’s all there is,
that life will grant you breathing.
…would you continue reading?
…or race and give your wife a kiss?
if you have none, perhaps your man?
…would you walk slowly,
…would you run,
…across the road, embrace your son?
…would tell him that you missed his hug,
…the one he gave this morning?
…or hold your daughter close and say,
‘I trust in what you do and pray
that all you hope for will come true.’
…or call your mum and dad to say,
’Thank you for all you’ve done.’
…or tell the best friends in your life,
how much you did enjoy the time
you laughed and cried,
and reminisce what you will miss.
…would it awake the wanting,
to clear up what’s been on your mind?
…and while you’re reading realise,
a minute is nearly gone of time
that once seemed endlessly.
Time has no seeds, it cannot grow,
there is no ground where you could sow
another second that as crop,
grant you extension of your time.
…would you still worry about tomorrow,
...regret the things you did not do?
…would you still quarrel with a neighbour,
…would you think it’s a waste of time
to change the light bulb you won’t need?
…time’s running out, I better stop
or else the less time you will have
to do what you need doing.

Unseen spirit

The empty page of purity,
no ink yet soaked the fibres in the white

The canvas bare, as is, unrolled,
not knowing what it’s asked to hold

No sound has echoed from the wall,
soundless is music, before it’s born

The rock unshaped, no chip has flown,
the vision not yet formed to be

The garden a bare paddock, horse manure
and empty bottles

The movie before title screen, before budget, 
script, long before the thought

The curtains shut, before the set is build, 
the seats are filled, before the actors act

The dancer’s eyes are closed, the body calm,
in waiting, muscles relaxed, before contracting

Before before, no thought thought,
no inspiration that inspired, no creation created,
all floats to balance planets with its weight

Before, it comes within our reach to mould,
to shape, to sense the unseen gift, 
to give it breath

After before, it is becoming, 
a fruit divinely grown,
and on the universal tree 
it makes room for new growth, 
replacing what’s been picked or fallen

Before before and ever after, 
each weigh the same in kind,
as unseen substance weighs
a multifold of mass of stars and suns combined

Some feel the agony of birthing,
others elated by the same,
and as the moon can lift the tide,
so can unseen celestial clouds
hold on a hundred-trillion cells
to lift you up before infusing 
gift or curse into the mind

Inside grey soil of neuron paths 
creation shapes as seed that’s germinating,
as embryonic growth becoming,
coded what it knows to be,
and for a moment the air around will lift
to let you know you’re bearing gift

The texture of the word, shaping the sentence
the colours of the sound, reflecting off the chiseled boulder
the dancer’s shadow echoes from the trees
in the garden that grew to be a park

There is an eye, an ear, a heart, and soul
for all that has become
that feasts in silent admiration
or smiles and cries in understanding

Seen from the furthest distance,
where all suns are mere specks of light,
the unseen spirit of creation
outweighs all seen, 
to balance all

No art, and all would fall apart

At age 11 my first guitar provided a means for experimentation and creative output. By 13 I had discovered the pen for poetry, essays, articles and the beginning of many years of song writing (lyrics and compositions). Over the years it grew to a collection of thousands.
