In the second of Chapter 24's Editions compilations, the label has invited a select group of talented artists from across the globe to reimagine original tracks from its releases earlier this year.

The duty of closing out this second compilation falls to Anton Dhouran, a young emerging artist from Paris, who, by age 20, has already signed to various labels such as Diynamic and Manual Music. He doesn't fail to deliver: his Edition of Aspice by Sam Pauli & Reiver takes us to the skies, wondrous pads anchored by rolling 808 bass, percussion and guitar lines.

This release – a collaboration between Ali X (Alphonse from Azari & III) and Mexico’s Theus Mago – turns the heat up all the way to “ON” and just leaves it there. The lyrical content of the title track would lead many to use descriptors like “sexy,” “sleazy,” and “steamy like you wouldn’t even believe,” and while the music also bears that out it’s important to remember not to stigmatize something that almost everyone does at least a couple of times a week. “Vision,” meanwhile, offers the perfect B-side accompaniment, a sci-fi techno workout where you don’t even have to think about sex if you don’t want to.

The EP features dub versions of both tracks for more stripped-down club sets aimed at people who understandably have problems with the sound of the human voice. It also includes a remix by Curses, whom we recently “bumped into” (he says “cornered”) in Berlin and asked if he’d provide one of his trademark eerie downtempo excursions. Long story short: he said “yes.”

Mexico's Duro label are set to release the first EP from local talent Undefined Pattern, backed with remixes from Damon Jee and Jenia Tarsol.

'El Desespere' comes after Undefined Pattern's debut on the Disque Discos 'DISCORROR IX' compilation and is inspired by the stress and paranoia of living in Mexico. It features three intensely atmospheric tracks with remixes by Damon Jee and Jenia Tarsol.

The fantastic title track gets things under way on a rugged bassline and illuminating synths that speak of a busy urban metropolis. It's a rumbling disco ride that really takes you somewhere. The dark and heavy disco vibes continue on 'Estrex Humano', with its crisp hits and urgent bassline. Edgy synth loops bring the tension and add plenty of drama before 'Intenxa Salida' offers a sparser and eerier track, with dystopian, searching synths and melodic details off in the distance that suggest human life amongst a late night urban landscape.

Frenchman, MORE associate and 90s veteran Damon Jee flips 'Estrex Humano' into a slow burning and steamy disco stomper with libidinous female vocals, courtesy of Ravintsara and broad synth sweeps. Lastly, 'El Desespere' as remixed by Blue Shadow Records boss Jenia Tarsol is a chugger with big rock licks and a filthy bassline.

This is a compelling EP from the fast rising Undefined Pattern and another great package from contemporary disco tastemakers Duro.
