The most recent release on 3rd Avenue welcomes Dutch producer Daniel Testas to the label with his latest melodic progressive house single titled "Bending Lights."

Amsterdam based Daniel Testas has been working as a composer and producer for quite some time. His first little steps into the world of music creation were made at the beginning of the nineties. Inspired by progressive, pioneering people like Brian Eno, Juan Atkins, Pump Panel, Afrika Bombaataa and Kraftwerk, he felt the urge to take the path of music himself. After lots of experimentation in home studio's, Daniel teamed up with his brother to form the Brothers Testas, creating and releasing house music on illustrious UK labels like Sperm Records and Jam Records, and playing big clubs and raves in Amsterdam.Next up was Project2000 this exotic (live) drum&bass band had huge success at the beginning of the new millennium (releases on Universal Records). After that came many lounge and chill albums with Praful and Adani&Wolf (Therapy Records) andmore recently the Balearic house scene was entered with the group Bo Geste (releases on Prison entertainment and Jalapeno Records). But... blood runs thicker than water, so Daniel has gone back to his production roots and his old, but first love: house music.Besides these activities Daniel has always also composed a lot of electro-acoustic music. That could be either autonomous or for film, dance and video projects. In these projects almost everything that inspires Daniel in composition and production come together in an imaginative symbiosis: sampling and synthesis, abstraction, accessibility, musique concrete, soundscape-design, sound and melody counterpoint, spectral and spatial processing, beat-creation, etc.

EarthLife are an Italian duo based out of Ibiza, bringing their first EP, “India” to Steyoyoke. It’s an accessible release packed with 4 strong tracks – balancing heavy beats with the kind of shimmering details that give ‘Ethereal Techno’ its name. 

The EP begins with “India”, a steadily evolving track which pairs delicate synths with a compelling rhythm that ebbs and flows. “Color Of Birds” follows, adding a darker and more dynamic element. Multiple layers interact with effects that add intensity to the bass, while maintaining melodies in the higher layers. The third track, “Endless Memory”, takes a more delicate approach. EarthLife take time to create space in this track with a delicate intro, and only minimal synths, letting the production speak for itself. “Horus” closes out the EP, taking the minimal tone of the previous track and evolving these themes to a finale that speaks directly to Ethereal Techno fans.  

Overall EarthLife deliver a compelling EP which shows a mastery of tones – the first two tracks focus more on a dancefloor-friendly side of techno, while the second half of the EP brings the delicacy and minimalism. It’s an exciting release for the duo, with hopefully many more to come.

Kintar is back to Timeless Moment on a collaborative effort with Delum to bring us two massive Ibiza Closing anthems.

The first track of the EP ‘Island Mood’ brings the trademark tribal percussions sounds of Kintar and his amazing Sudam label with that extra Timeless harmonies added on the mix. Well-arranged melodies and ethereal vocals add the cherry on top of this very special groovy single.

The second track ‘Never Doubt’ has a very distinct and unique sound design with a driving Progressive Electro bass line reminiscent in the style of some of the biggest prog trance anthems from last decade, but in a modern and revolutionary effort. Well-constructed Techno drums and cymbals, forward thinking Fx work and beautiful Ethnical vocals make this another ‘A side’ track to close this timeless EP from the Argentinian duo.
