The ninth installment on Tabla Records comes from none other than DJ/producer. multi-instrumentalist and sound engineer. Alexkid. The former Parisian turned Berliner is without a doubt one of the most respected producers in the game. His stripped back. elegant and dubby sound-constructions have previously found their way on to labels such as Desolat. Fuse. Cadenza and Underground Quality. 

Now Alexkid has supplied Tabla Records with two of these very unique tunes. His Reset-EP shows the Kids preferences for the dubbier and deeper sides of electronic music. Both originals - Fu-Man-Chu and Reset - are delightfully bass driven. London based Archie Hamilton - owner of Moscow Records and key member of Fuse London - rounds up this three-track-EP with an uplifting and stupendous remix. that can be described as a typical Hamilton-Groove.

After a successful first release, ABS are delighted to welcome new faces to its series of many.  

The Second Addition enlists the skills of Italian DJ and producer @andreacaioni and Israeli-born @stephan-bazbaz, alongside powerhouse remixes from @michaeljames and Sydney local @monika-ross. 

On the A side of this club-friendly and intergalactic cut, is Andrea Caioni. Born out of beautiful San Benedetto del Tronoto in Italy, his sounds are characterised by minimal grooves and numinous pads and has previously had the privilege of releasing music on (IO) Mulen’s Hoarder last year as well as being a part of the eminent op:um parties based in his home town. Remixing this mesmerising track, is the man on fire; Michael James. 2018 was a big year for the UK local, where many of vinyl only releases on @mulenrecords & @constantsound saw almost instant sell outs, that lead to him being invited to play at one of Carl Cox’s ‘One Night Stand’ parties based in Ibiza. Whilst Michael’s sought-after tracks have gained support from the likes of Apollonia, Enzo Siragusa, and Jorge Savoretti to name a few, this is a super special remix and a dance floor essential for DJs to load their arsenals with. 

Fresh off Archie Hamilton’s @moss-co is a previous ABS recruit, Stephan Bazbaz. Having attended the S.A.E Institute in Byron Bay, Australia, he then moved on to curate sounds and frequencies that would soon reshape house music, both internationally and in his home town of Tel Aviv, where he has been running his vinyl only label @nowavesrecords, established in 2016. A close friend of Stephan, and now Berlin local-spintsress Monika Ross commands a cruisy, yet powerful and refined remix. Constantly raising her head above the barrier, her sounds reflect a wealth of creativity and aims to constantly add the right amount of sensuality evidenced by swinging percussive grooves and infectious basslines. She recently had the opportunity to remix for the freshly imprinted vinyl only @subsonicmusic and will play alongside Bazbaz at the 10-year anniversary of the widely acclaimed Australian Subsonic Music Festival on November 30th, where Subb-An, Traumer, Raresh, and Perlon Trio; Zip, Sammy Dee, & Fumiya Tanaka are set to headline. 

There has been a large support base for this release, spun widely across multiple dancefloors around Europe and Australia, and included in many featured artists’ podcasts.

Release Info:
Michael Hooker has been a revered name in the worlds of techno and melodic house for quite some time. The UK-bred, US-based DJ, producer, and label owner is known for his tasteful blend of heavy rhythms and catchy melodic sequences which have seen releases on labels like Desert Hearts Black, Dear Deer, Suah, and his own Re:Sound Music. Michael makes his debut on Yoshitoshi with the Warning EP, featuring two unique originals and a stunning remix from progressive house mainstay Quivver.

'Warning' is the kind of hard and heavy techno that seems to build forever, its rising leads and soaring sounds creating a sonic tornado of tension before unleashing flurries of sirens and pounding drums. As Nigel Tufnel might say, this one 'goes to 11.'

'Thoughts of You' is more on the hypnotic side of things, with a slower tempo and a syncopated vocal sample that morphs and evolves into all manner of robotic forms. Lush pads and exotic percussion fill out the space creating an atmospheric vibe that still rolls and moves like proper techno.

Quivver's remix of 'Thoughts of You' takes the track in a darker, cinematic direction, with massive, modulating synth stabs and a heavy groove. It's trademark Quivver, and the veteran producer's chops are on full display with his razor-sharp focus to detail. The remix rounds out this package with a refreshing and progressive mix.

The disco-tinged house anthem from monster pairing Fatboy Slim & Eats Everything sees another superb remix from Irish producer Rebuke.

Rebuke brings his stylistic fusion of industrial techno and acid to this fiery disco hot-cake. Dashing tripped-out vocal snippets from the original across his palate of diligent kicks and crisp hi-hats, his wiggly acid lead swells and widens across a spaced out breakdown that hurls us back into his stripped-back blend of wavey acid and racing 909 drum grooves.

"Our Chrom Recordings EP nr 40 is from Sam Albasini aka Aston Alba, a producer & DJ from Switzerland. In 2018 he released his first singles and EP's on Trippy Code and Inlab. Pretty soon his style of music evolved from melancholic & hypnotic techno into a mix of mystic atmospheres and Middle Eastern sounds resulting in releases on Grrreat & Aftertech. And in this style he presents us now his "Mesopotamia" EP on Chrom Recordings, consisting of 2 original tracks "Tigris" & "Euprates", completed with 3 very powerful remixes.

For "Euphrates" we asked an artist we already wanted to add to our roster for some time: Aaron Suiss, from Washington DC, but now currently residing in Thailand. Aaron Suiss describes his style of music as Progressive Melodic House/Techno. Aaron is currently working as the A&R & Label Manager of Outta Limits Recordings, one of the leading Progressive House labels around and the imprint of Stan Kolev & Matan Caspi. Next to his output on Outta Limits he also has released on Revolt, Harabe & O'Tawa. For this remix Aaron teams up with Q.U.A.K.E aka Netanel Asraf from Israel.

The second remix of "Euphrates" is made by Riccardo LeBron aka Anakim (pronounce as ana-keem), a Los Angeles-based DJ/producer who describes his music as "Intergalactic Underground Sounds". He perfected his sound at the esteemed Icon Collective Music Production School resulting in a dark and mysterious sonic style that is both melodically rich and delightfully sinister. Releases on top labels such as EIN2, ICONYC, mau5trap, Desert Hearts Black, Krafted Underground, Dear Deer,... and nominated by DJ Mag as "Artist To Watch" in 2019 and by Billboard Dance as "Emerging Artist You Should Know" this year, says it all.

And last but not least the EP is completed with a remix of "Tigris" by Sarcasmo. Sarcasmo is a new project, a new idea, from the Spanish producer/DJ Alvaro Fuentes, established in London, sharing his more than 10 years of experience and in which after researching about different styles brings his darkest side: techno, deep and minimal influences fused with dark vibes is what you can find in most of his energetic productions, resuling in releases on labels such as Steyoyoke, Us & Them, KDB, Wood, Cinematique, Qilla,..."
