Romanian DJ and producer Mahony drops the first release on his newborn Take Notes label, marking the beginning of an era full of energy and attitude on the dancefloor.

Opening cut 'U Ready?' delivers the goods: fresh & gritty low end, hand raiser vibes and a massive heads-down drop. Next up, 'Pasi De Dans' is a flashback to Mahony's hometown, Bucharest, showcasing tight percussion and swift evolving leads gliding above subtle waves from the underground. Rounding out the package, Tamango master Yaya's take on 'Pasi De Dans' is a bumpy, energetic dancefloor tool for the skilled selector with spicy vocals, powerful funky basslines, and perky hip-swinging drums.

The music has spoken; it is now time to take notes.

Paco Osuna welcomes Romanian artist Mahony to his label Mindshake, and along with his two deep and techy original tracks, the EP also features remixes by Fer BR and Paco Osuna.

Mahony is a talented producer who's known for having a stripped back style of house music with bassline grooves and flowing percussion. His music has previously been featured on other labels ranging from Moan to his own Take Notes and his tracks have been supported by the likes of The Martinez Brothers, who featured Mahony as part of their fabric compilation mix.

Also, a skilled DJ, Mahony is known for his residency at Bucharest's iconic Kristal Club and sets at festivals such as Sunwaves, along with regular international bookings at places like Space in Miami and DC10 in Ibiza.

Fer BR is an artist with close ties to Mindshake and his deep techno remix is inline with his music on labels such as Adam Beyer's Truesoul, but he's an eclectic artist who's also featured on other imprints ranging from Claude VonStroke's Dirtybird to Pig&Dan's Elevate.

Closing out the EP is a rework from Mindshake label owner Paco Osuna who is an iconic Spanish DJ known globally for his legendary DJ sets. He is also a highly revered producer who has provided tracks and remixes to labels such as Circus Recordings, Moon Harbour, Minus, Bedrock and many others.

– Oh, look! That's the horn of the famous Triceratops! I think it's passing on its vegetarian powers to me through the centuries.

The two track EP opens with Eye Of Detroit, a deep, well crafted Tech-House nod to the Motor City. Infusing shuffling high hats and a near jazzy, pulsating baseline, the track gives off an understated energy that could easily be seen in the peak of the dance or in the small hours. Kak Skazat comes in at the chuggy, electro-inspired end of the minimal spectrum with a weighty groove and some wonky bleep lines to close this wicked two-tracker from Saktu.
