George Harrison My Sweet Lord (HEISS Remix)

I am honored to release a recording of my performance from November 29 2014 at The Chapel of Sacred Mirrors in celebration of Alex Grey's birthday and supporting David Starfire. This show was a dream come true for me. I've performed for many audiences that numbered in the thousands and yet the approximately 200 of you that were there brought and emitted an energy level that was tenfold to your numbers: I was touched by the presence of many more Souls than I saw before me. This could be for a combination of reasons - the heightened Spiritual Awareness of those in attendance, the Holy Presence of the land's history itself or both but most important is what I experienced with my 5 senses - Divine and all powerful Love. 

To partake in Creation with any medium is ultimately God's work, a Great Fact that we have collectively forgotten. As a composer of music, I am aware then when chants were conceived by human voices at the dawn of time, the primary purpose was to reconnect with Spirit. To put this in words via the song contained in this set “Mystical Revival" my fellow Soham states what is no longer obvious to many co creators: “We can't pretend we're in control once we remember what we know…" 

I would like to take this opportunity to suggest that any maker of things, be it artist, musician, writer, film maker, architect or software developer, make the investment of money and time to purchase and read Alex Grey's book "Mission of Art.” In "Mission of Art", Alex Grey demonstrates to the reader that Creation, in any form, remains a Divine act, by sharing his direct experience with it. With astounding transparency he describes having reached a feeling of ambivalence regarding past transgressions of Principle, utilizing his own creativity. I have had a similar but musical experience and witnessing this type of Transcendence in others, Alex Grey included, is what inspired and continues to nurture my own growth on a Spiritual line of development. 

How much evidence do you need to see that God exists?

The Hick Step Massive is a Country Western influenced Break Beat project by Boston producer Frank Heiss who met Rench years ago - both producers having a similar interest in the fusion of two seemingly unrelated styles of music. Frank Heiss is known in the world of electronic music for his work as Liquid Sky's tube and is currently producing new material as HEISS.

This track was written and produced around 1996 using exclusively hardware, perhaps only an Akai MPC-3000 if I remember correctly, and recorded live to 2 track. Happy Thanksgiving!
