Andy Wilson belongs to that rare breed of Balearic DJs who actually live in the Balearics. One-time teenage post-punker from Manchester, with four John Peel Sessions and numerous tours under his belt by the age of 18, Andy began DJing in 1991, a natural progression after years of making mix-tapes and spending a fortune on vinyl. 
He DJs and broadcasts regularly but you’re more likely to find him behind the decks at exclusive parties or soundtracking the sunsets at outdoor venues on and off Ibiza than in a big club, although he’s played Pacha, Ushuaia and Destino this season. In 2021 Andy left Hostal La Torre after 5 years as resident DJ and this summer is playing at Pikes , Café Del Mar , The Standard, Sa Trinxa and Kumharas  in Ibiza plus international gigs in New York, London, Manchester and Zurich.

Even if the sound-quality varies a lot between older and newer tracks and some are played/recorded by bands and therefore not easy to mix, i'm happy with the result. Solid Steel in association with Serato (8th January) It's another label takeover this week with Axel Boman and Kornél Kovács from Studio Barnhus sharing deck duties. Alongside Petter Nordkvist they've been running the Swedish label since 2010 and we get a taste of some forthcoming Studio Barnhus material. Their productions, remixes and DJ sets have always been of the highest quality and it's no exception this week. Axel Boman takes care of Hour 1 and he told us;

"I usually record mixes with stuff from my vinyl collection because i dont have cdjs. i think its good that i dont have them since it forces me to be creative with that format. but sometimes i miss being able to mix unreleased stuff so i decided to go outside of my comfort zone on this one. not too far outside since i used ableton and 2 channels on my e&s mixer so it felt vaguely familiar. the music is mostly Studio Barnhus related stuff, some upcoming releases and some golden oldies. a big thank you to Young Marco for the intro track, of course it takes a dutchman at redlight records to dig up the best swedish music, haha."
