Hi,
I must admit that being a music channel owner is a pretty cool and satisfying way of living.  Yet, sometimes things can get kinda chaotic.  For this witchtape there was actually a last-minute change of schedule and I needed to find a DJ who could make a top-class podcast from scratch in less than 3 weeks.  Personally, I may be one of the slowest podcast makers on this planet and it takes me on average 3 months to complete one mix.  But luckily there are people with a much faster brain and Kośa is one of these rare talents.  I know quite a few DJ’s who make one podcast per week, yet finally their work doesn’t sound very inspired.  But not so for Kośa, who seems to be able to conceive a whole new podcast every day before breakfast, and yet each and every mix of his hand sounds fresh and original.  And – most importantly - with a level of deepness which can only be attained by a person living in a country which is immersed in thousands of years of mystic and spiritual traditions.
So, when I asked him to make a podcast for my channel, he sent me the first demo version just 3 days later.  And – more amazingly –simultaneously he was working on two podcasts for other channels and also on the ‘Sahasrara’ podcast for his own channel, and in between hosting 3 guest mixes in his ‘raga saga’ series while on top of that attending some events in India.  Actually, I already feel tired just by reading all this, yet Kośa keeps on brimming with energy and inspiration.
A few days ago he sent me the final version.  It was already quite late in the evening in Belgium when I received it, so he must have sent it at the darkest moment of the night in India, which means that he a) was still awake, or b) was already awake, or c) never sleeps.
Sometimes I even think he’s living in another dimension, where they have a different notion of energy and time.  Or maybe he’s simply one of those heroes from an ancient Hindu epic, with 3 heads and 10 arms... and with perfect control over all these limbs.  It’s just un-be-lievable…

The sound of The Oddness is a culmination of years of varying tastes and production styles, taking influence from Downtempo electronica, Dub & World music and blending these influemces into the longer, slow burning structures of deep/progressive house. The live set is full of improvisation and can go anywhere from laidback and melancholy through to a chunky, driving gut punch.

Loy grew up in the middle of nowhere with a passion for nature and music. When she was little she started making her own mix tapes as music had always a big influence in her life. She has always been ambitious for music, especially for different sounds of cultures from all over the world. From early on she was looking for new sounds, that leads your body into moving. After spending years dancing infront of the DJ-desk she decided to go behind the desk since the beginning of 2018. 
Loy believes music shall not be limited to genres, so she is not confined by tempo, genre or geoprahpical boundaries. With melodic elements at the heart of her sets, she wants to tell a profound story that creates an uplifting atmosphere, which leads through percussion, deep rythms and cosmic downtempo tracks — always with a baseline. Für die 52. Runde des Igelkarussels ist diesmal jungspund aus Freiburg, der sonnigsten Stadt Deutschlands, mit von der Partie!!

Zum Stichwort „Liebe zur Musik“ kann uns der gebürtige Gießener einiges erzählen: Um 2013 und 2014, als er @christianloeffler und @kris_davis für sich entdeckte, explodierte seine Leidenschaft für die elektronischen Klänge und er begann selbst Musik zu sammeln. Sandros erster Auftritt an den Decks und damit seine erste Einladung zur gemeinsamen Reise in die deep-treibenden Beats ließ dann selbstverständlich nicht mehr lange auf sich warten! Er selbst verbindet Musik mit einem puren Freiheitsgefühl und kann sich nichts besseres vorstellen, als sich mit ihrer Hilfe des stressigen Alltags zu entledigen. 
Und dies tut er am liebsten innerhalb der Community die mit Musik so oft einhergeht und für ihn vor allem für offenen, respektvollen, und vorurteilslosen Umgang miteinander steht, denn Musik verbindet!
Sein „Bummeln auf Balkonien“-Set kann als Paradebeispiel für seinen Sound zählen und hat uns direkt verzaubert, so dass klar war, dass unsere Podcastreihe keinesfalls ohne ihn auskommen sollte. Und wie der Zufall es so wollte, stellte sich dann auch noch heraus, dass wir mit ihm die Heimatstadt teilen. 
Und wie klein ja bekanntlich die Welt ist wird auch durch eines seiner Highlights der 2019 Festivalsaison deutlich: Träumerisch beschreibt er seinen Gänsehautmoment auf der Bucht der Träumer während des sagenhaften Sturms, der @Caleesi nochmal ordentlich hochdrehen, das Floß voller Nackedeis abtreiben, und zur Versӧhnung schließlich wieder die Sonne samt doppeltem Regenbogen erstrahlen lassen hat.

Sein Set ist mal wieder was für Feinschmecker. Melodische, sphärische aber auch teils trippige Elemente paaren sich mit der ein oder anderen wuchtigen Bassline und behalten dabei stets den roten Faden im Blick. Der vorletzte Track ist eine hommage an @kris_davis, der Sandros Musik maßgeblich inspiriert hat. Wir sind begeistert und wünschen euch viel Spaß auf dieser Reise heraus aus dem Alltag und hinein ins grenzüberschreitende Erleben von Musik!
