Grooving became a natural form of expression for kayḆe, growing up as a dancer on the east coast of rural Australia. This early connection to movement and music laid the foundation for her cinematic sound, intended to provoke introspection and energetic connection.

kayḆe blends a range of eclectic production styles, shifting in tempo to master the mood of the dance floor. Often gravitating towards deep, dark baselines, she aims to seduce the mind through extended transitions laced with psychedelic rhythms and rolling groove.

The light and shade heard in her sets reflect life's realities and her personal experiences. Through her music, kayḆe hopes to create a space where like minded listeners can connect with their inner selves and the world around them. Hekske (the little witch) and Falke (the 10-year old witch apprentice) had been flying eastwards for 2 days and 2 nights. It was the very first time they flew in this direction, passing over the Tian Shan mountain range and the Gobi desert, after which they followed the mighty Jinsha River downstream, until they reached a range of hills with lush green meadows and forests. They were just wondering how long they still had to fly, when they saw a dragon flying in their direction. He had surely recognized that Falke was a dragon tamer, as he flew straight to her and indicated to follow him. It was a beautiful golden dragon with sparkling scubs of a kind which Falke had never seen before. Shortly afterwards they gently touched down in a clearing of a forest, where a young Chinese witch was waiting for them. She greeted her visitors with great kindness, although she was a bit reserved. Her long white and pink dress was truly beautiful and elegant. She introduced herself as Yǎqín, the protectress of the forest of the Jinsha River. She explained that it was her 14th birthday, which meant that a new 7-year long Qi cycle of her life was starting on that day. Her previous 7 year cycle was dedicated to contemplation and seclusion in the loving company of her faithful dragon Yìchén (who was purring happily while Falke was patting and hugging him). And during the new Qi cycle, she would meet the witches who were guarding the 7 other holy forests of Zhōngguó, and maybe she would even meet foreign witches. But she didn’t expect this to happen on the very first day of the new 7 year cycle.
Yǎqín first let her dusty guests take a refreshing bath in a quiet pond with lotus flowers. After the bath, she gave 2 hanfu dresses to Hekske and Falke, in exactly the same colors as her own dress.
Then she offered the girls a cup of herbal tea and lychees, after which she showed her visitors around her forest, which looked like more a park than a forest for Hekske and Falke. She explained that the forest contains 8 sections with 888 trees each. Despite its park-like appearance, the ecosystem was very rich with lots of rare species of birds flying around and singing from the stunningly beautiful pine trees. This place truly felt like a garden of Eden.
When the sun started to go down, Yǎqín invited her guests to her cabin in the middle of the forest. It was a beautiful simple hut, made from bamboo with a cane roof. There were stunning paper lanterns inside, which she lit with a floating spark from the palm of her hand (just like they light fires in Europe). That evening, Yǎqín prepared several magic potions, using a wide variety of spices and herbs, like Dang Shen (Codonopsis Root) and Huang Qi (Astragalus Root) which the Flemish witches had never tasted before. They were truly impressed when they heard that the witches’ community of Zhōngguó exists for over 2500 years, while in Flanders the history of witches only goes back 850 years.
Later that night, Yǎqín showed her magic wand to her guests. It was obviously a magic wand, as it would come to her hand when she stretched it out. But that was the only thing she could do with it, as it wouldn’t react to the magic spells she had been taught. Then Hekske and Falke smilingly took their own magic wands, and bit gently in it. Yǎqín looked very surprised when she saw her European guests biting in their magic wands. Hekske explained that this unlocks the power of the wand. Then Yǎqín hesitantly bit in the wood, and it started to glow immediately. And to her surprise, the magic wand was working perfectly now, responding to all the magic spells she knew, filling her heart with joy …

Xtorm is the 10th release of my Dishes Delicious Compilations and is all about pushing through. Dark downbeat mixed with chillrave and slowtech is probably what describes it best. 

My main object of this set was to create a strong, dark and stormy atmosphere (which was very challenging to maintain for almost 2 hours without getting either too techy/bouncy and neither too drowsy). Starting off with 100 bpm I wanted this to be enjoyable while sitting or lying down, so I focused more on the dark mood of this set and not on dropping recent releases. Meaning that the tracks are not all brand new but very (!) carefully selected (with 2 yet unreleased tracks).
