That day, Hekske (the little witch) got a rude awakening well before dawn when a snow flake landed straight on her face, while the wind was howling through the dark forest.  Falke (the 10 year-old witch apprentice) had once again snuggled under the moss blanket of the witch to keep warm and dry.  The winter had been mild up to then, but on that day the harsh winter weather had finally arrived. The outdoors life of a witch is full of beautiful and rewarding moments, but on mornings like these, even the toughest witch can sometimes be yearning for a warmer and drier place.
A little later, both girls were sipping from a warm cup of herbal tea and their morning mood brightened up considerably when they realized it was the new moon day, which meant it was the day of their monthly trip outside the witch’s forest.  They waited for the rain and wind to abate a bit, after which they took off and headed towards the east.  They had no idea where they were going to and were just following their inner compass.  It was a pretty easy flight with the girls benefiting from the strong tail wind and one hour later they reached Limburg, the easternmost province of Flanders with its breathtaking landscapes of orchards and lush forests. Today the place was even more beautiful than ever with its cover of immaculately white snow. After a while, the witches saw a girl waving at them from a heath field below them. As the girl was wearing a long white dress and walking barefoot, she was obviously a witch. Hekske and Falke touched down gently, where they got a warm welcome by the girl and her guard wolf. The girl was very young, but her long red hair and mesmerizing green eyes showed that she already was a powerful witch. After a long and tearful welcome hug with the witch, Hekske and Falke cuddled and hugged the wolf. The warm and fluffy feeling of a wolf is one of the most wonderful feelings a witch can get. 
This was a very special day for the girl as it was the very first time that she met other witches. They decided to go for a walk in the snow-covered heath field, which was dotted by several small meres (shallow ponds). The wolf was in a frisky mood and was playing in the snow all the time. The young witch explained that the wolf had left his pack to take care of her when she was still a child. Wolves are known to be the most faithful and trustworthy companions for witches. The bond between the wolf and witch was obviously very deep and soul-touching. 
Normally witches do a lot of mystic ceremonies, but on that day they decided just to have some fun and walk around this spellbinding winterscape. And at the end of the day, they gave a last hug to each other (including a fluffy hug to the wolf) and promised to visit them again next spring, when the heath will be in full bloom …

January 18th was my first gig of 2025 in Frankfurt. It was a co-event by Rebellion der Traümer and Tanzhaus West called "Berliner Naechte". My 3rd time playing in this club and, as always, I loved every sec of it.

...and the Re-Discovery of Slowness I Beate Uwe 2025

After yet another January storm, the wind finally abated just after sunset. The weather had been particularly miserable this winter, and now that the snow has melted, the whole enchanted forest had become soggy and swampy. After being clouded for over a week, the sky finally cleared up, just in time to see the near-full moon rise over the eastern horizon. 
Hekske (the little witch) and Falke (the 10-year old witch apprentice) welcomed their friend Quintine, who had woken up from a 414 year hibernation a couple of months ago. The witches huddled together while watching the bright moon, which had a rare blue glow that night. 
After some time, Falke looked around and saw a faint light in the distance. Apparently there were more visitors on the way. Given the fact that none of the spotter owls had raised the alarm, the witches knew that they had nothing to fear from these visitors. The light came closer and closer, and after a while they could see that there were actually several lights. 
Finally they could see the contours of their visitor, a bearded man with a long cloak and a cone hat. This was obviously a wizard.
The man took of his hat and greeted the witches politely. He introduced himself as Eoin, the Irish wizard of light. And he was not alone. He was accompanied by 8 young wizard apprentices who were all carrying glowing crystals. The boys launched a myriad of floating lights in a circle around the clearing. And all mushrooms started to glow, each in a slightly different color. Eoin smiled and announced solemnly that this is the festival of lights, a ceremony which he is performing every year in January, to chase away the darkness of winter and make the forest ready for Spring.
The wizard gave 3 crystals to the witches, who held it in the palm of their hands. The crystal of Falke had a subtle yellow glow, while Hekske’s crystal had a mesmerizing pinkish glow. And Quintine’s crystal emitted a purple pulsing light. Intuitively, the 3 witches came together and brought their hands close together. And this had an amazing effect on the 3 crystals, which now really came alive. The witches just couldn’t believe their eyes …

It was that time of the year, when the days were short and there was speak of the new year, when she felt that the worlds of the living and the dead were particularly close together. She could more easily shift forms, times and spaces and, in that process, could carry with her more of her magic than usual. 
It was in this space that she felt so blessed with love for all beings and non-beings on Earth that she wanted to brew a special spell to be sent out into the worlds on the eve of the new year. She used the best ingredients: all of her favourite tracks that express the full spectrum of love and emotion. She put them together and sent them out with intention, so that the next year would be filled with a bit more love for everyone. 

It was wonderful starting the new year with the lovely Lush crew @dualism, and the wonderful @eve1-lyn, @matijasound, @rkjvk. And not to forget my love @ditolove! 
Unfortunately, I didn't record the set on the night itself, so what you're hearing is a re-recording.

✪Wie entstand „Überhaupt & Außerdem“ und woher der Name? 
Wir saßen im Keller unserer alten WG, in dem wir oft aufgenommen und Mixes gemacht haben und sinnierten über mögliche Namen. Neben „Augen zu & Lurch“ war das dann der beste Kandidat :) 
Eine Hommage an die Austauschbarkeit

✪Wer ist der unvernünftigere von euch?  
Wir werfen immer ne Münze vorher. 
Bei Kopf gewinnt Andi, bei Zahl verliert Philipp :)

✪ Habt ihr Rituals/Traditionen bei Gigs?  
Wir gehen in aller Regel die Setlist nochmal (wo auch immer) durch. Philipp macht akribisch Backups der Sticks.

✪Wie oft seht ihr euch? 
Jedes Mal wenn beide jeder mindestens ein Auge offen hat. Aber da kann man schon auch mal eins zudrücken.

✪Bei wem wird produziert?  
Die Magie wird bei Philipp im Headquarter angerührt.

✪Wer kann besser kochen?  
Andi hat schon rein quantitativ einen Vorsprung, da er es sehr regelmäßig tut. Während er sehr engagiert täglich kocht, kann bei Philipp schon auch mal Street Food im Schlund landen.

✪Worin seid ihr maximal unterschiedlich?  
Andi mag gerne Zahlen, Philipp mag gern Wörters

✪ Was macht ihr noch zusammen außer Mukke? 
Wir heben gern mal gemeinsam repetitiv schwere Gegenstände hoch.

✪Worauf können wir uns dieses Jahr freuen?
Die Edit Schmiede wurde mal wieder angeschmissen. Es gab jüngst eine kleine Session mit dem Herzel Seebo. Serious Ohrwurm ahead!

✪Während der Aufnahme des Podcasts haben wir…. 
Gehäkelt, Steuererklärung gemacht, Boden feucht gewischt, die Bücher im Regal nach Alphabet sortiert, das kleine Latinum und noch bisi Maniküre.
