Telemachus 'Locust' (Henry Wu Remix)

In the five (five!) years since his cracking debut LP System dropped, the type of music Linkwood excelled at - a meld of sun-kissed house and loping LA funkiness - has become widespread, and perhaps even played out. So the decision to furrow a different path on forthcoming sophomore Expressions (due next week on Firecracker) makes perfect sense.
That being said, the warm tones prove hard to shake, and the precision of craft never truly goes away. What begins as straight techno chugger in the vein of The Field circa '07 gradually emerges from its tunnel into bright daylight. It's a coy move, us premiering this one: "Object" is a bridge. But coming from, and going to where? We've waited half a decade - one week more won't hurt.

Glenn Astro currently resides in Essen and has spent half his life producing and DJ'ing. He started out with Hip-Hop and later got into ultra soulful House music.

Glenn returns with another gang of grooves. His warm, soul-infused "Hologram" EP is  is forthcoming on WotNot Music and is set to be released on vinyl March 23rd and digitally early April.

None other than Henry Wu (22a) was called in for help to remix "Love Is Gone", which he does with a delightful, jazz-instilled flip. Since we have been following both closely for a while, we are stoked to exclusively premiere this particular track of the Hologram EP.

It goes without saying that you need to pick up this release if you love that love warm, jazzy, soulful sound. Check out this super limited pre-order (only 20 vinyl copies) and leave a nice comment or REPOST if you dig what you hear.

Stephen Brown has witnessed electronic music's emergence in the UK first-hand, initially being drawn into the electro sounds of the early '80s and getting fully involved in the break dancing scene, then having his head turned as records from Detroit and Chicago came to prominence in sets heard back in '88 at his home city of Edinburgh's Hoochie Coochie Club. It's from here that he has gleaned his biggest influence though. During the subsequent years of his own studio exploration he's folded that catching vibe into his own sound perfectly, working poly-rhythmic drum programming in amidst pad swathes and stabbing synths to carve out his own niche in the four four territory. 

A live artist to the core, Brown has a real wealth of work that he draws on for driving the dancefloor - a process which he says simply serves as a testing ground for new ideas. It's the place his tracks are first realised and ahead of his next date with us in Room Two he tapped us up to offer up a cut that has been getting a lot of heat over the last few months. Entitled '2K' Brown has opted to gift it to his fans first ahead of the usual privileged circles of DJs ahead of his upcoming date with us in Room Two on 22nd August alongside Terry Francis and Clockwork.

 Rhythm Section International proudly presents it’s 8th offering from local boys Chaos in the CBD. Born in New Zealand, but based in Peckham for the last few years (literally just around the corner from Henry Wu and Bradley Zero), these brothers have made a real mark on the scene here in London town and with their latest set of productions are set to take this message further afield. 
Having already released internationally on labels such as ClekClekBoom (Paris), Hot Haus (London) and Amadeus (Montreal), the duo’s approach to production has matured immeasurably in the last year, as is evident in the restrained potency and poetic subtlety on the 4 tracks across this accomplished EP, Midnight in Peckham. 
Taking it’s title from the locale the boys have come to know as home, the record channels a delicate late night energy - equally indebted to the hypnotic incantations of Ron Trent as it is to the hazy suburban atmospheres of Burial. These 4 classic cuts pay homage to deep house in it’s truest sense - at once sublime, melancholy and meditative . Chaos in the CBD have clearly taken their cue from the mid-west masters of the genre but have not been afraid to let their own influences and environ creep in, and in doing so have created something that is unmistakablely London and infact, timeless.
