No stranger to FBI Radio and the beautiful scene here in Eora, Sim (E3P) joins patina for a lovely guest mix and interview. We’ve been long time fans of Sim and have been so drawn to their considered approach to music selection -  experimental, gentle and textural - all things we love here on patina. 

Strap in for two hours of sonic exploration, familiar rhythms and unexpected twists. galiba and lenna take on the first half of the episode, bringing new sounds from some of their favourite local and international artists, mixed in with many giggles and reflection on their origin story and the birth of patina.

On this weeks episode we feature special (interstate) guest, Abby Sundborn. @ab3070 Abby is a Woi Wurrung based musician and composer whose electroacoustic compositions blend her background in classical cello, interactive composition, electronic sound production with a presence in Naarm's experimental underground scene. She brings a beautiful and explorative mix that is equal parts reflective as it is transformative. She shares sounds of her own and of friends in her community - we were so lucky to have her beautiful energy in the studio with us.

Galiba and lenna take on the first half of the show with local releases, injections of lovely dance music and a small guest mix from Fontaine, a long-time friend and associate of patina.

So excited to have Ty (@tadhgggg) join us live in the studio from Naarm to play a lovely mix for our weekly patina day here in Eora. Ty who performs under the moniker Tadhg, shares an hour of musical selections that flutter between dub-laced ambient, downtempo trips, and 140 bass sounds that are often entwined with melancholic narratives. Ty is drawn to basslines and instruments that build tension and emotion, overlaying them to form her unique style of storytelling.

This episode feels even more special, as we have Ty perform their flute that weaves effortlessly throughout their mix. Dreamy, weightless and achingly beautiful - this intimate mix with live instrumentals on the airwaves is a first for patina. Catch us having a lovely chat and interview towards the end as we get to know more about Ty and their practice and share some lovely giggles. Hehe

Recently relocating to Berlin from Eora/Sydney, Basil is a DJ, producer and archivist with a taste for offbeat and obscure records.

Basil brings us a beautiful mix of experimental, minimal and broken techno rhythms. It’s full of gooey, metallic and industrial soundscapes. This one is a real treat.
