Finally, I arrived to the 'New Land'. My first day started with a big storm. And I do not just mean weather, there was a storm in my head after those fine American Porters. I feel a bit dizzy, have to go to bed.

Long Cascades

Recently, - after getting tired of making blueprints - I am walking around the town. Last time I went to St. Louis Cathedral. That is where I draw this picture.
 I felt strange there. The music, the priest, the people - they were so different. But it was like home somehow. Memories from my childhood running through my head. I was cleanly remembered one day from elementary school. On that day I ask Pribislav Hippe for a crayon.

After the WWI Hans Castorp moved to the United States. His new life started in a   pleasant city, New Orleans with a german commune. It could be hard to change 'Castorp' into a more american sound like name, so contrary to the others he changed his first name instead of his surname: that's how 'Hans' become 'Helix'.
