Just in time to warm up your winter, Hell Yeah revisit the peerless recent Tsuki album from ambient and Balearic masters Tempelhof & Gigi Masin.

Trancendental and dreamy drums characterise the new age ‘Corner Song’, which is the sound of laying back on a boat and bobbing up and down on gentle seas at sunrise. It’s organic and soothing to the max. The other original is 'Flying Man’, a suspensory film that feels like floating amongst the clouds on a humid afternoon. Wordless vocals add a heavenly feel to the lush and all encompassing chords and pads and nothing sounds sweeter than being lost in this one.

It is Corner Song that gets remixed by Good Timin’ and Running Back man Jex Opolis. Famous for his disco infused synth pop sound he is a master of his own musical world. His version is eight minutes of laid-back tropicalia. Slowly churning drums and knotted funk-bass prop it up as an eco-system of pops, clicks and hits add to the steamy and sensuous groove.

Mix of the Week #598: Zyron - Psychelearic Dreamscape

So I realised recently that I had live streamed my DJ set at Smart Bar in Chicago on Facebook (remember doing stuff like that?) while on a completely amazing coast to coast tour of the USA in 2019. So that means I can rip the audio and here we have slightly over 1 hour of my set from that night. 

Huge thanks to Roger That from Playground Records for booking me at the legendary Smart Bar - it was an honour to finally play there. 

It's really cool to hear what I was playing on that tour 6 years later - was such a great time! I would have been back sooner but alas my visa ran out before the Covid restrictions were lifted and it's such a faff to get a new one. I will be back! 

I have a funny memory of Michael Serafini rushing the booth because I'd played 'Manhood' by Vikter Duplaix and he'd 'not heard it for years' - it meant a lot to have people like Michael come to support. Shouts to Oren and Katherine who played some great stuff - it was a brilliant night.

Dream Chimney proudly presents "Tidal Figures," the new EP from Paris based producer Sim Fossil. The release is a deep dive into cosmic soundscapes, synth melodies, heavy basslines weaving together elements of house, nu-beat, and ambient into a truly unique, low-BPM fusion. Across four original tracks, "Tidal Figures" explores a quiet duality of space and time. "Echo Marina" and "Nyrosine" bask in a soft, melodic glow, while "Null Meridian" and "Backcurrent" plunge listeners into a darker, even slower synthetic haze. The tracks are all driven by deep, slow basslines and shimmering synths that feel heavy and submerged, reminiscent of a half-speed Harold Faltermeyer adrift in an underwater voyage.

A few weeks ago, I decided to make a mix to listen to some of the new records I brought back from my trip to Europe and the UK. Totally unplanned and imperfect, just the way we used to it. For the fun of listening to new records. The result was pleasing to me as It really reminded me of the innocence of old mix tapes I used to love, so I thought I'd share it on here. Hope you enjoy!
