In Dvnots’ first-ever mix with HELLECTRONICS, a story of credulous infatuation and the subsequent loss of trust is told through a collection of 12 originals and remixes. “Habitat” starts off the mix depicting the naïveté of a first relationship, backed up by plucky instrumentation (albeit with sinister undertones hinting at the relationship’s fragility). A few tracks in, the distorted “Chewing Teeth” captures the initial anger of heartbreak and broken promises into play. Later, the remix of “Perfume” captures insecurity and feelings of powerlessness in the face of infidelity, but at the end, Lilah’s brilliant remix of “My Heart Will Go On” is a testament to the ability of a heart to mend after it’s broken. This wonderful set of tracks won’t ever betray you!
