Remix of Biggie's "Gimme the Loot" and Dr. Dre's "One Eight Seven", which is in turn a remix of "Deep Cover".  Uses acapella and regular version of "Gimme the Loot", unfortunately all I could find was the shitty isolated vocal version, oh well.  Other samples include the beat from "One Eight Seven", one of Snoop and a police scanner sample I found online ("that's a direct order, do it now").  Made in FL Studio 9 Producer Edition.

Came close to losing this one, had a huge crash in FL Studio which made the original project file corrupt/erased all my plugins from the lists.  I was able to find a backup file (thank god for autosave) but my plugins are still screwed up.  Ah well, at least I didn't have to abandon this one.

So here's my remix of Eminem's 2003 single "Business", the official acapella with a beat I made based around Curtis Mayfield's 1972 track "Freddie's Dead" from the Super Fly soundtrack album.

Juicy (The Boss)- Notorious BIG Remix

I'm aware I upload some of my tracks multiple times.  It's annoying, I'm kinda never fully satisfied with my stuff, I always go back and hear something I wanna change.  I'm in school right now for music and sound recording and as I learn different techniques and tips for the mixing process, I'm hearing things in my tracks that seemed to sound fine before but now need change.  For this one, I brought the overall volume and vocals up and put sidechain compression on the vox, a technique I'm still learning how to do correctly.  FL Studio can be annoying like that, rather than allow actual sidechain compression it's all LFO based.  Anyway, this is just an updated mix of this remix, lemme know if you think it's better or worse than previous versions.

Nuthin But a G-Thang remix (test, louder mix)

I'm not a huge Lil Wayne fan, but I did like Tha Carter III.  I made a beat based around Aaron Neville's "Hercules" and thought this acapella would fit nicely.  This is also another one of my attempts to get a good sub bass on one of my tracks, my desktop sub is garbage and I'm mixing on M-Audio Studiopro 3's/Sennheiser HD201's so it's tough to judge a nice bass sound, so feedback would be cool if you wanna bump this on your system.  Also, the scratches were done in FL Wavetraveller, I have no turntable skill whatsoever but wanted to throw in something cool to fill the instrumental gaps during the hooks.

Not too much sampling here, liberal use of MinimogueVA, Massive, Drumatic, and a bunch of drum samples. The only samples besides the acapella itself are the police siren I chopped up and a brief few samples of Lyn Collins' "Think".  Proud to say I didn't use any synth presets on this either, only used them as a base sound and built off of them.

In Reverse (finalized)

Something I made last year, consists of the acapella + sound effect track of The Beatles' classic "Tomorrow Never Knows" (specifically the remix with Within You/Without You from the Love album), a couple synths, and the same Bill Withers "Kissing My Love" drum sample I used for "In Reverse".

I was trying to create an atmosphere with this one, something you could put on headphones to and feel like you're sitting in a massive echo chamber.  I had to chop up the vocals to interweave them with the drum beat which in turn added to the slowed-down psychedelic tone of this track.  Admittedly for the bass I used the "Rush Sawyer Bass" preset from OPX-Pro II, I liked the way it sounded once the sweep became the droning E under the song.  

Made in FL Studio 10, enjoy!

Within The Echoes

Interview between my brother and grandfather for my brother's 5th grade heritage project, recorded March 1999.  He described growing up in the shadow of the Great Depression, as he was born in the late 1920's.  My brother is now 25 and my papa is now 85, its a trip to listen to this 15 years later and it's a cool thing to have recorded.

The names were censored as I'm uploading this with only my brother's permission. 

This was recorded to an old cassette and the sound quality has deteriorated from bad storage and age.  The tape was already recorded over multiple times so there is plenty of hiss, this is post-EQ and compression.
