Brass Tax had our own stage at BOC this year, tucked away from the fray up in a corner, and we couldn't have been happier with seeing all the beautiful (masked) faces who came by to say hello! In addition to being my first public appearance since NYD 2020, this is one of my favorite sets I've ever played, full of funky, soulful house, midtempo breaks, and groovy rolling basslines. We didn't get a recording at the festival, so I decided to recreate it live from Bowerbird. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

New Years Day 2022

June 15, 2013 the Angels of bAss came together for a very special all vinyl reunion show in San Francisco. This recording is an excerpt from that evening featuring all 4 angels (j9, Tamo, ViaJay, Jess) tagging 2 x 2.

FNF has meant so much to me since the first time I attended in 2001. It was the location where much of the early Brass Tax crew came to really know and love each other. Its former location, Walter and Jane Camp's land in Willets, inspired me to own my own land someday. 

When I was given the honor to play the closing set on Sunday morning, I knew I had to make it special with tracks that are as close to my heart as this campout. North Cack is an ode to my home state of NC. Drop the Hate was a track that OG BTx DJ Loosebeats would use to close many of our early 420 renegades. Dog Days was a song that got me through a particularly hard patch of summer last year, and anyone who knows me well knows how much Willie means to my family and how much Rainbow Connection means to Brass Tax. 

Many thanks to the FNF crew and all the work you do to make this campout an enduring bright light every year, and to the Music Committee for gifting me my dream slot and allowing me to bring this one home in 2023. And thanks to Brad Katz and his crew, who make that main stage bass thump like nobody else can.

Halloween 2023: Busted

Birds of a Feather 2024 was an intimate, invite-only, bird-themed hotel takeover weekend of music, art, dancing, and an array of bird-brained activities brought to life by a flock of artists and crews from the Bay Area and featuring DJs from Brass Tax, Space Cowboys, StrategiK, Red Hot Beverly, Garage Mahal, Angels of bAss, Duck Pond, Pink Mammoth and more. 

The other planners and I could not have been happier at how well it came together. It felt like an Old School Raver Reunion, and we all left with our little bird hearts full. Thank you to everyone who participated, from the Artists to the DJs to each and every participant who made our little patch of Sonoma County the place to be for this weekend of hilarity, amazing music and bird vibes.

This set was recorded live from the Main Stage Bird Ball on Saturday 4/20. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Live at Brass Tax 6:66 2025

This set was inspired by my first return visit to my roots town of Asheville, NC in 20 years. A town where you can still find a speakeasy where they roll up the rug on the dancefloor and you can dance barefoot all night to a Ragtime or Western Swing band while the bartender mixes you pipe smoke Old Fashioneds. The town that provided my musical roots, before I ever knew that electronic music existed. Here's to you, Asheville. California may have my heart, but you still have my soul.
