ABOUT

This track has been on the back burner for a (very!) long time and started out as an outline composition in support of a short film, about a reincarnated witch.   As it turned out the film didn’t happen, but the song continued to evolve, and somewhere along the way got renamed to Selene!

It’s a song about two women, separated across time, and could follow several different themes: haunting, possession, reincarnation or perhaps love.. I'll leave you to decide..It touches on separation and isolation, the power of connections and perhaps a life rebuilt, for both the songs characters.

I’ve been very fortunate to be ably assisted in creating this track, by two fantastic pro musicians; Glenn Welman, on drums, and an absolute POWERHOUSE soprano vocal performance from Marion Schneider (Mioune) Without their talent, innovation and, in Marion’s case, a ton of advice, Selene would not be the track it is!  Thanks should also go to Joseph, at JREL Music Studio, Oklahoma City, whose mastering skills put the finishing touches to a track that I really am pleased with!  Thanks a million guys!

I put all my singles into one album. Most are very rough, but oh well.

Song Descriptions:

TATTOOS ON YOUR ARM:   This songs is about the NOTORIOUS SAMMY CHILL. In school we used to draw on our hands during class (hence the name). He eventually left the school, so this is an ode to him lwk.

BEAUTFUL BLONDE:   This one is another ode to someone from the early days at school. She's pretty much your basic white girl. Blonde hair, Blue Eyes, Caucasian, yk.

TRYING TO WRITE:   And another one about a white female tsk tsk. Although, this one writes, which is why I named the song that. It also was a running joke that she was a "cute girly pop"...

CRAZY HAIR:   This ones about a caffeine addicted girl with "crazy hair". She Also gave me relationship advice, but it wasn't the best. 

WHEN HES DOWN:   Is about this girl and this other guy who kind of have a relationship (sorta).

LITTLE BOY: is about the one and only KOLBEEEEE (the younger brother of the "crazy hair" girl). This song was done in a kind of ambient/thoughtful faze of my song writing. I was also super inspired by the song Saturday Love by Maxo.

LATE BLOOMER:   This song is about the short friend (ironic, because he's now taller then me now). 

ENDED WITH SOME CHORDS:   This song has meaning :') Its about a trip me and some friends wanna take. We'd rent a van, blast music, and if Manny acts up, we'll tie him to a kite.

YOUR MIND:   This one (which used to have a rap in the beginning that was the CORNIEST THING EVER) is a reply track to Sammy Chills Track "Chill Guy". The end sample in the end is Sammy Chills song. After this song we had some back-and-forth artist "beef" hehe.

ITS ALL OVER:   AND FINALLY, SAMMY CHILL FEATURES FOR THE FIRST TIME!!! this song ended the so called "beef". we never really had beef, it was kind of more just for fun. The ending is when I recorded Sammy Chill giving his notorious mouth trumpet solo.

And that's it folks, enjoy the album. It may be choppy, but its got character to it (hehe).

The lyrics from "silken shadows" seem to be good for another track, now with male vocals and an arrangement slightly leaning towards country folk.
