When Scuba's Claustrophobia dropped back in April we couldn't get enough of it's dark, gritty, gloomy take on jet black techno, and we're still bumping it now. 

Imagine our excitement, then, when we found out that a tonne of our favourite producers were going to rework the entire thing. Audion! Tuff City Kids! Radio Slave! Loads more!

The result was this stunning LP that takes in everything from airy ambient house to demonic 5am churners. We're super stoked to be bringing it to you exclusively here on THUMP.

One year ago, Sodai burst onto the electronic soundscape with fearless River / Ghost from label boss Gardens of God. Renowned for delivering the highest quality with meticulously selected artists, the label has carved out a fresh sound and distinct style. To celebrate the first milestone, Gardens of God solidifies the integrity of the label with the profound Maple EP .

Subtle distorted keys pan the atmosphere in lead track Maple for an enticing start to the EP, before a dominating bass soon carries the track through layers of melodic synths. The sinister tones of Whistler are next and set to cause a serious stir on the dancefloor. Last up, Bek is a solid techno roller with a thundering bass, enhanced by an incredible richness in the haunting synths that echo throughout.

The third Realm Of Consciousness compilation on Tale Of Us’ Afterlife Recordings is the label’s most complete statement so far.

The four-vinyl opus opens with Tale Of Us’ now anthemic ‘Nova’, a high-impact and well-loved staple of their sets this year. Agents Of Time continue with the percussive rattle of ‘Paradigm’, before the first released collaboration between luminaries Recondite and Henrik Schwarz shines with understated melody.

Amongst Mind Against’s eerie masterpiece ‘Portal’ and impressive first appearances on Afterlife from Scuba (as SCB) and Steve Rachmad (as Sterac) are ethereal contributions from Fideles, Ovend and Øostil. UK techno veteran Edit Select channels the darker, hypnotic spirit of Afterlife with ‘Phase In’, setting up the sprawling, 14-minute epic from Luigi Tozzi and Antonio Ruscito.

To begin the compilation’s fourth disc, Konstantin Sibold & Kosme’s ‘Cyclone’ lifts the tone, leading into a more introspective sound from Hunter/Game on ‘Changing Weather’. Upcoming German talent Kevin De Vries follows with his infectious cut ‘Mágoa’ and Tone Depth ends the odyssey in mesmerising style with ‘Ibn Sina’.

The full spectrum of Tale Of Us’ Afterlife label is on display here, as they continue to push the envelope with a high-quality and diverse selection of artists.
