Elliott - I Haven't Forgotten You [WIP]

I rarely mix at all these days. My last released mix was from 2015. It's been many years since I did a live and totally unplanned mix and even longer since I broadcast one. Strictly in terms of broadcasting, I don't think I've done a set since I did a few on Krafty Radio back in the day. But here we go. I'm out of semi-retirement to present to you a high energy blend of older UK hardcore tracks, underrated gems and drum & bass. I hope you enjoy it. :)

There's a deliberately "messy" quality to this mix. Sure, I was intoxicated at the time but I still could've done a much cleaner job. There's something quite charming about a mix that feels imperfect and "analogue". Usually I shoot for impeccable technical skill but I think  obvious mistakes add character to a mix and creates something closer to what rave mixes used to be.

High Energy Hybrid Liveset

A slow and experimental little chilled-out number that I'm pretty happy with. "Strange Sound" was the result of a challenge I gave myself to create a complete track using nothing but plugins and samples built into FL Studio, which meant that a whole lot of love and work went into crafting each synth and sound.

The next release will likely be "Brain Acid", which is a terrorcore track.

Strange Sound

Clean your brain out in the harshest possible way with my patented Brain Acid. This horrible piece of music was composed with great love and affection. Despite its short length, I added major variations or flourishes every 4 bars, cramming several tracks worth of terrorcore content into a very varied 2 minutes. It took ages to produce "Brain Acid" because of the amount of content I had to create for the layers - lots of atonal riffs, new sounds etc. - and the fact that I manually laid down every kick for maximum control. I created both of the distorted kick samples myself from the same basic everyday kick with very different results (of course, that's not much of a boast because they're not good -- I probably would've got a better result going for a sample).

"Brain Acid" definitely isn't going to appeal to all or even most people. Terrorcore is a divisive genre and "Brain Acid" is a particularly weird track even within that genre. I'm going to release something completely different for EAAA3: a slow, deep, melodic lo-fi track called "Suicide Note".  And I'm going to do it relatively quickly after this one to compensate for the extremity of "Brain Acid".

Update (Mar 2022): Scratch the above. No I'm not going to release anything. I'm going to kill myself instead. There won't be a track entitled "Suicide Note". Which is ironic to a degree that I couldn't have planned better. To be honest, I probably won't really suicide. I'm sorely tempted but too much of a pussy.
