Our man in Detroit is one of electronic music’s unsung heroes. With a solid claim to have been one of the true originators present at the birth of DJ culture in Detroit, Delano has persevered to play a big part in today’s cutting edge underground scene. He had dealt with more than most in 2020/21. While European artists could count on some support from Governments many of our musical family in the US had to find other ways to survive. Delano gave us a unique, honest insight into this and more. We never need a chance to share our favourite tracks from Delano, so it was a challenge to limit ourselves to just some of his back catalogue for this recording, we hope we didn’t miss your favourite.

Det Gode Selskab is an event series, a DJ collective and a label with a sonic profile that sits somewhere between minimalist soundscapes and emphatic grooves.   Tod Louie and Chris Solaris is a case of opposites attract that first led to them sharing the booth and laying the foundation for Det Gode Selskab. Tod Louie, a farm boy with a story that sees him playing on the same bill with Sasha and Astral Projection at the age of 13 in his own backyard, and Solaris the focussed facilitator. They found a kindred spirit in one another bonding over an eclectic musical lexicon that bounced from Ambient to techno, through Disco, Garage and House. They found an innate connection through their respective record collections, which they’ve sharpened to an esoteric sound as the figureheads behind Det Gode Selskab collective.

Ears Wide Open is my call for you to come wander open-heartedly into the endless realm of beats and melodies I dig, mostly – but not limited to – electronic, No boundaries or preconceptions, just all that music I wanted to share with the world, but I didn’t have the chance yet.

I grew up listening to the radio or better said, the radio grew me musically, infected me with a visceral need to select the music I loved and tape it on cassettes.
