I saw Loukii DJ at his older brother's wedding and he blew me away so I invited him to come and play at our Unannounced party at Star Lane earlier this year. He rocked it and I asked for a Ba Dum Tish Mix right there are then.

He's served up an hour of delicacies for us... bon apetit!

Co-founder of Offenbach based banger central imprint Traffic, Martyné is part of a rather special clique of artists that are maintaining the German region’s fine heritage in electronic music. It will also come as no surprise that the talented producer has his feet firmly rooted within his local nightspot which also happens to be Robert Johnson, as well as Sibolgold also being a regular haunt. 

His beloved Traffic has understandably seen much of his solo productions and also with long time cohort Bodin, but his future retro electro vision has found homes on Arno’s Pressure Traxx, Varoslav’s Rue De Plaisance, as well as productions on Pleasure Club, GOSU, you get the picture. Bomb only labels.

As you might expect, Martyné’s session for us wastes no time at all in getting down to business and it is this no messing ethos that propels this mix forward from the get go. Screw face breaks, acid dipped techno, whispers of proto trance all exchange warm embraces over the course of the 80 minute run time but it flies by thanks to the punchy segues and upfront track choice. Strap in.

The Japanese-born, but London-based DJ somehow manages to make the heaviest of beats sound light and refined. His programming, razor-sharp mixing, refined curation, and humble attitude have earned him spots at some of the dopest venues and festivals around. Through his label SAISEI he also introduces long-forgotten obscurities from The Land of the Rising Sun to discerning collectors and selectors in Europe. Off the back of well-regarded podcasts for Timeless, Dimensions & The Ghost he graces the series with this sublime hour that's difficult to pin down; equal parts spacious and groovy but with enough twists and turns to hold attention throughout.
