The 13 piano/key presets and 18 plucks included will get you all the colours and tones your melodies are looking for.

Our friend, collaborator and producer HI.MOEZ has unsheathed his new MOOG SUB PHATTY and created this BANGER dedicated to MAS ACOUSTICS (MOOG distribution in Spain).

For this second Artist Series we feel ecstatic to have Fast Boo in command of the ship, arguably the funkiest fellas we know of.

Fusing influences from the 70's Jazz-Funk, the 80's Boogie and Pop plus some traces of 90's Hip Hop, they pull off this luscious deep funky cosmic sound, that inescapably activate your feet and make your mind wander to space. Lo-Fi Birdy Beats is an expansive and emotive collection of wobbly, lo-fi & textured beats built around the guitar instrument.

We organised a recording session with a guitarist surrounded by a vast assortment of pedals, external FX and old cassette recorders. Playing with subtle reverb changes, adding some delay, reversing the sound, and even flirting with hard pitch shifting.

Once the session was over, we loaded all those samples inside our favourite samplers (old cassette recorder, octatrack and sp404) and ended up re-sampling the whole collection adding an extra lo-fi vibe to them.

We finally end up building some heavy textured beats and performed the last touches to tracks with fx, some acoustic instruments details and synths, nurturing the library's sound palette.

The Beatbox - Vocal Percussion pack is our homage to the noble art of mimicking drum machines (typically a TR-808), using one's mouth, lips, tongue, and voice.  It may also involve vocal imitation of turntablism, FX and other musical instruments.

It has a strong connection with hip-hop culture, often referred to as its "fifth element", although it is not limited to the genre and can be found on other musics such as brazil funk, pop, experimental & electronica.

Beatbox was popularised in the 90's thanks to figures like Razhel or Killa Kela and has been used over the years in countless records by artists so diverse such as Biz Markie, Kendrick Lamar, Justin Timberlake or Björk.

We scheduled a beatbox recording session and used a Shure SM7b and an API 512 preamp to catch that original fat 90's beatbox sound.

Inside the pack you will find 848 samples & 53 drum kits, covering all the ejectives, fricatives, mouth hits & spits you need to humanise your drum tracks.

Presented in 1978, the Compu Rhythm CR-78 is by far, one of the best sounding analog rhythm machines ever created. Trust us. There is no other machine that matches the human feel and punchiness CR-78 delivers.

The CR-78 came with 34 built in preset rhythm patterns (Rock, Disco, Waltz, Shuffle, Slow Rock, Swing, etc...)
Even if its program capabilities were poor and rudimentary, the groove of its included rhythms and the pure rawness of its sound made it a classic used by iconic musicians from very different genres (think of Phill Collins, Fatboy Slim, Blondie, etc...)

Sounds
The CR-78 offers very electronic yet analog drum tones.

Kick, snare, rimshot, cowbell, hi-hats, cymbals, congas, bongos, tambourine and guiro are covered.

They sound absolutely great. That's why we have maintained our “raw” philosophy by carefully sampling the drum machine through top class preamps (Neve 1073 to UA2192 converters) with no further compression or processing.
But… Since this machine is slightly limited in sound design possibilities we decided to also include layered, re-pitched, filtered and tape saturated versions of the original samples to offer a more diverse and playable sound pack staying true to the original.

Loops
Besides the one shot samples we decided to also include the precious built-in rhythm loops.
We first recorded all the loops at 124bpm. But carefully listening to the original machine playing at 90bpm gave us a different feeling than playing it at 124bpm. Things were walking a lil bit funkier...

So, we decided to sample it again at 90bpm, ending with loops for fast (electronic) and slow (funky) songs.

Not happy with that extra care we decided to re-sample all the loops processing them with the same tape saturation and Filter effects previously used in the one shots samples.

All the guitars were carefully recorded using top mics, preamps & pedal effect and then later re-recorded into tape to give it that extra lo-fi mojo.

The included drum loops were built using an old Akai S612 and a Roland SP404, and they all have the HelloSamples organic lo-fi flavour we are known for, built to complement the guitar tones. 

Flirting with lo-fi hip-hop, trap & vaporwave, this pack is perfect to inject some gloomy vibes on your music but still giving you room to build and further define your genre above them.

Not another 606 sample library, this one is special. We’ve sampled the usual sounds, but also we’ve sampled stuff that users often forget about this machine.

So, what is different about this sample library?

-When you clock the 606 to a long tempo you can hear hi-hats and cymbals with a longer release so we’ve sampled these at various speeds.

-Also when you play an open and a closed hi-hat at the same time you get a different sound, like a very strong semi-closed hi-hat at much higher volume. We’ve also sampled this.

-And last but not least, we’ve sampled each of these sounds with 2 degrees of accent intensity.

To top it off everything was ran through a Great River 500-NV preamp (Neve 1073 topology) and a tiny bit of eq (a really nice Inward Connectinos EQP2 parametric), sampled whith converters of the highest quality (Black Lion Audio).
