Shiny Coin and SPIT are joining forces to realise a split tape this August.

Releasing their first tape back in 2015, Shiny Coin (Sharni, Cale, and Shamus) recently returned from their very first east coast tour, to record some of their catchy, fuzzy pop songs with Mike Deslandes from High Tension.

SPIT debuted in November of last year. Taking their cues from bands like Pavement, Abe Vigoda and Constant Mongrel, SPIT play fast and loud but slack as hell. Off the back of high praise from The AU Review for their set supporting Mere Women's album launch at The Curtin, they're now preparing to release their first four tracks. Recorded and mixed by Stacey Wilson of Terrible Truths/Rites Wild, they will be available as part of a split tape with Melbourne's Shiny Coin.

The two bands formed a friendship after playing together late in 2016 and have been pals ever since. Releasing songs together seemed like the perfect way to consolidate their momentum.

This split tape captures both bands at a pivotal point in their songwriting. Songs about the futility of modern life, capitalism, love, and dogs.

See them launch their effort at the Tote Upstairs on August 12 with support from the amazing HEXDEBT and Piss Factory.
