Growing up in sunny South Africa, she was initiated in the twilight tribe, then stomping her way through Johannesburg’s starry nights, she sought the sun, and as the dawn broke through one morning, NYX was reborn. Pursuing a better balance of night and light, she carried her passion across the long waters to Vancouver, and finally found the infamous Alluvium festival, and her true musical family. Signed to PsynOpticz in 2017, she has released two VA’s with the label – Seekerz and Seekerz II. An adamant acolyte of the straight 148, NYX may still play coy, soft and sweet, seducing you with soft strings and trippy textures. She may punish with pulsing bass or dazzle with swirling synths, guiding you through till morning with stars in your eyes. A decade has passed since our inception and we have come a long way. What was once a thought to be part of our ‘conscious community’, has now become a reinforced reality.

This is our first release to commemorate our metamorphosis; our evolution into the present state which will lead us far into the future. In order to acknowledge and materialize the support that the universe has extended to us in our decade of existence, we have created this album as a gift to give back to the universe what we have received.

Change is the essence that brings about the much-needed transformation in the human consciousness, the human perception, and in the human being. At times, it may be too dark or far to see where the ride is headed but the first step towards moving forward on this ride called life is trust in the Self. 

This much needed change is embedded in the fabric of our universe. It is the only constant and the only definitive. It ensures the karmic cycle of life continues and one state of being is able to morph to another. Closely tied to ‘time’, it is this phenomena that ensures the force is constant and infinite. 

To change, to evolve, to morph is the natural state of being. Either you are the catalyst and you drive change, or you are the victim and succumb to the consequences of the change brought upon by external forces. By embracing change in your space and time, you watch the magic unfold.

Born into a family where both his mother and brother are skilled musicians, David Hellquist from Gothenburg, Sweden, has always had music and sound as his main focus in life.

Starting in 2008 with electronic music, he felt an urge to create the twisting sounds and noises that kept bugging his head – only finding peace of mind once they were realized.

His tunes vary from Dark Progressive/Psygressive with a “twisted-tech-glitch” touch, to different EDM genres such as Techno, Minimal, Deep/Tech, and House.

Hellquist is sure to continue serving us psy-heads with his unique “digital-acid-deep-in-the-Swedish-forest” kind of mind-altering musical creations.
