Here is a retro remix of Murray Gold's "The Dark and Endless Dalek Night" from Series 4. I made a tribute to the classic Daleks to go with it. 

Note that, unlike other releases, this one is simply a retro remix, rather than designed to emulate any specific era of classic Who.

Fifteen by Murray Gold, remixed to sound at home during the 4th Doctor era. There's elements of disco, classic Moog-esque sounds, and a hint of early 80s synthesisers.

This was probably the most fun track I have worked with so far.

Doctor Who: Fifteen x Four

The Shepherd's Boy as it may have sounded in 1986 with the Sixth Doctor.

I remastered the track by altering some of the instruments and remixing the stereo. I tried to make this sound more consistent with the sounds used for Doctor Who at the time, including by replacing the electric guitar that kicked in for the climax on the previous version. 

I'm unsure who made the original MIDI this is based on, it may be dKmps on Musecore.

Doctor Who: The Shepherd’s Boy (1986) REMASTERED

Here it is! My first attempt at re-creating the sound of 1960s Doctor Who, in the form of All the Strange, Strange Creatures.

There's heavy drums, organs, sine wave generators (or some approximation of them), clav-esque sounds, spooky woodwinds, muted French horns, and pots and pans for some more percussion. I looked into the work of several composers of the period and these were the most consistent themes I found across the examples I looked at.

Here's a special release. I felt the need to release something for the anniversary, so (mostly) finished off an existing project to make Murray Gold's 'All the Strange, Strange Creatures' in a 1970's style.

After many requests, I've been working on this track and re-worked it from scratch. I went back to the sheet music and thought harder about what instruments should be present. It's still not 100% where I would like it to be, but it's a vast improvement on the original. I was 70% happy with the draft, and perhaps 90% happy with this one, so I thought I’d release it. 

The first 30 seconds or so are a bit of a hot mess, but I’m reasonably happy with the rest. I may remaster this once I get my hands on a better sound library.

Maybe we could call this Draft 2? Akinola’s music is VERY hard to emulate with synthesisers. 

I’m also trying out new video editing software that’ll hopefully reduce the awful compression.

Doctor Who: Hello Thirteen (Fifth Doctor)

Here is the final version of UNIT - a retro remix!
I've done as much as I can to make it sound 'era authentic'. The original version sounded a bit too early 80's or late 70's to sound right by my ear. I'll release it separately later. But I made sure to have some early synth sounds alongside a real drum and cymbal arrangement, and some heavy woodwinds like the bassoon which was common for BBC music of the time. There’s also a cheeky flute in the mix. 

I'm unsure who made the sheet music/MIDI for this video. I've had it for many years. So I'm unsure who to credit. If it's yours, please let me know so I can credit you.

A retro style version of A Good Man by Murray Gold - the Twelfth Doctor's theme. I see this working well with the Sixth Doctor so have put together a few clips to go with it, chosen to include some of the morally questionable behaviour of old Sixie.

Doctor Who: A Good Man? (6th Doctor)

A remix of the original tribute to the great umbrella man - the 7th Doctor. My favourite classic Doctor.

Thanks to @WimpyKelv12 for the idea. It was pointed out that the original version was more an early-mid 80's style than the faux orchestra from McCoy's era. I have spent a few days remixing the original to incorporate the strings and woodwind sounds that were used to create a second version.

I deleted the original data file in my video editing software for this, so recycled the video file and overlaid the dialogue clips as I obviously muted the sound from the original video file. It's not 100% seamless but it's not jarring.

The retro remix of Murray Gold's fantastic track for Gallifrey and Time Lords. 

It's taken me quite a while to get it sounding the way I want it, and although there are a few places where I think it sounds slightly off-key, this is the best I can make it at the moment.I created a few visuals from depictions of Gallifrey and Time Lords in the 1980's to go with it.

Doctor Who: Gallifrey (1980s)

Here it is! An adaption of Murray Gold's 'Westminster Bridge' track from 2005 adapted for the Third Doctor, in the style of old school Spy TV themes, using the sounds of 1970's BBC music.

There's woodwinds, sine wave generators (which I agonised over for days!), Clavichords, and simple percussion instruments. Before anyone comments, I know this isn't what would we would hear in the 1970's. This kind of music just isn't something we would hear, but I tried to emulate the instruments that were used, rather than the overall style. The style was more in line with the James Bond theme, Mission Impossible, and Secret Agent Man than anything else. That in itself was a momentous task. 

But I was determined to find a leitmotif for the Third Doctor, particularly after a viewer suggested the James Bond theme for him.

Although this probably took me the longest time to get right, out of any other track I've made so far, it was also a lot of fun. I hope you find it fun too!

A draft initial attempt to find a leitmotif for the Second Doctor. This isn’t the theme I’ll end up using for the character, but wanted to share this anyway.

As Murray Gold's 'A Dark and Endless Dalek Night' was my 500 subscriber special, and people asked for this, I've done a Cybermen retro remix using Murray Gold's spectacular score, drawing on dandalf's incredible sheet music on MuseScore.

This is mostly a track with an 80's feel, as I found myself wondering how it would sound with Earthshock. But it has elements of all of classic Doctor Who music. It has the metallic sound of Malcolm Clarke's Cybermen music from Earthshock and Attack of the Cybermen, and the eerie melody and big drums of the 60's Cybermen theme, with the organ and heavy woodwind sounds of the 70's.

I really enjoyed making this one, and I hope you enjoy it too.

The Shepherd's Boy in the style of Dudley Simpson's 1976 music. There's two organ's, several woodwinds, and a french horn sound that's more prominent this time, to fit in with the vibe of Dudley Simpson's Hand of Fear and Deadly Assassin soundtracks.

I'll let you come up with your own story about how or why the Doctor might be trapped in a confession dial during the events of these stories, and why he might be determined to break out of it.

But I envisage this taking place during, or at the end of, The Deadly Assassin. 

For that reason, it's likely to involve Sarah-Jane. Let's hear your thoughts on how this could happen!

Was the Doctor stuck in the matrix for eternity? Or somewhere else?
Did the Master pluck Sarah-Jane away as part of some malevolent scheme then send the Doctor into a confession dial? Was it Chancellor Goth's plan to trap the Doctor instead? Why?
