We are very pleased to welcome in a mixtape from Mark Griffey, the NYC New Age boffin behind the infamous www.ultravillage.com - the incredible & ever expanding archive/guide to US New Age & ambient music from 1975 to 1995.

Many artists from this era produced their music on cassette in small editions which were sold through a network of independent book shops and magazines. While collector interest remains high, much of the music is not well documented and Ultravillage aims to improve that by providing an in-depth look at these musicians and their music.

"For this mix, my theme was the elements - water, earth, air and fire, with the first two represented on side one and the latter two represented on the second side. Many artists here integrate the sounds of nature in their recordings, or use their instruments to evoke the elements." - Mark Griffey

We owe a big debt to Mark for his dedicated efforts to unearth and educate us all on such a critical moment in US New Age history.

Idle Press boss, DJ Sundae has crafted together a beautiful hour long mix for the 14th edition of the podcast series.

Sundae's Idle Press began by repressing the 1982 Pitch single - 'What Am I Gonna Do For Fun' and has gone on to release music from Smagghe & Cross, and recently an edits compilation of proto-trance tracks by Alexis Le-Tan. 

Alongside organising this stream of amazing releases on Idle Press, in 2016 Sundae put together a brilliant compilation of folk-pop, and new wave tracks, selected with fellow frenchman Julien Dechery. 'Sky Girl' has been noted as an essential album of the last few years. 

Sundae's impeccable taste can also be heard on his regular radio show, No Weapon is Absolute, which he co hosts with Cosmo Vitelli. Throughout this mix we are given a look into Sundaes unique taste that we have admired for a number of years. Make sure to watch out for upcoming Idle Press releases and all of DJ Sundaes radio shows and gigs.
