The ocean was a dense shade of azure, it glimmered and flickered beneath the glow of the warm mid afternoon sunshine. Overlooking it was a collection of towering skyscrapes, where nature met technology. The blue tech park had sat here for many years, visitors had come and gone, each with more sense of self importance than the last. However, they were nothing in comparison to the vast weight and superiority of the waves which crashed against the shore from time to time. A gentle reminder of the real superpowers round these parts... 

Telephones is back on European Carryall and this time has taken a left turn, entering unfamiliar territory with fast paced cuts which blurs the lines between techno and balearic music. It's excellent, riveting stuff which could be played over a romantic dinnertime sunset or in the depths of the rave at 4am. A unique record with an innovative twist. We dig it.

Hot on the heels of his recent ‘Freedom Unfolding’ release, praised by Raresh, Sasha, Laurent Garnier, Vladimir Ivkovic and Dorian Paic, Italian-born tastemaker David Agrella is back on his Agrellomatica imprint with more intergalactic fire. This time, the London-based selector serves up four groove-laden cuts across ‘Flowing’, including remixes from Woop Records’ Ben Hauke and Into The Wizards’ Sleeve's Mr Barcode. 

Title track ‘Flowing’ is a cosmic voyage peppered with glossy pads, eerie synths and sharp percussion, before Agrella’s own ‘Sabotage Mix’ throws in deep, driving tones, subtle robotic vocals, and interstellar keys. 

On the flip, Ben Hauke delivers a dubbed-out reshape, harnessing fluttering echoes, emotive harmonies and deep basslines. To close, Mr Barcode provides a punchy electro remix, as warped samples and driving low-ends get down in this slice of dancefloor mania.

The room was crowded with onlookers who had come to witness what had been described as a beautiful miracle. What could be the harm in that? For it was always a wonder to see somebody healed from hurt - to see somebody rise upwards and face the demons which had been recklessly punishing them for, oh, so very long.

An organ played softly in the background as the pastor began to mutter a magnificent spell from the stage. There were gasps and exclaims as the lights flickered and danced on and off whilst the sound began to echo and refrain between the walls of this old building. There was an eerie, ethereal presence which hung thick in the air as the small, crippled woman rose from her seat on the bench.

This was it, the moment they had all been waiting for, as she began to stand.

Hardmatter are back with more delicately crafted, elegant deep house - this time featuring two producers of determined skill and prowess when it comes to working the dancefloor. Javonntte and Malik Alston feature on this new split EP - the latter of which delivers this track called 'Stand' and guides us towards the dark and murky rooms.

Bass Toast steps in with a wonderful multicultural EP. Filled with warm chords and soulful broken beats. Half Belgian, half Portuguese Alexandre Bastos has an approach that’s seen him spend the last few years colliding different genres into percussive sounds filled with both confort and discomfort. He previously released on Listen Festival’s compilation, and is now revealing his latest project on his label Cosmic Breeze Record.

Provocatively named «Golden Spunk», this EP contains 4 percussive jazz-infused house broken beat tracks, in which, he shares the feeling of «Spunk», meaning « courage ». Living in a Golden era, filled with daily pressure all around, determination and courage are both paramount to one’s understanding of what’s needed in our individual and collective journeys.
