These songs were recorded in the mid-1990s in Iowa City and Des Moines, Iowa, via a Yamaha 4-track straight to an old school cassette. Turn your bass down a bit.  Hemingway Red played a few shows in Iowa, but was more a song writing vehicle than a live band for its brief duration.

The first 10 songs were written and recorded in Washington, DC in roughly 30 days in the late 1990s in a fit of creative fury when Tom (music, guitar, backing Vox) and Mark (lyrics, Vox) met through a mutual friend. Some Song is an Elliott Smith cover and Forever Instant is a Lou Barlow/Sentridoh cover.

Hemingway Red was a band I (Tom) had in college with my friend Scott (bass) and my brother Dan (drums). I wrote the music and lyrics, sang, and played guitar.  We played a handful of shows in Iowa. Brumidi was an acoustic duo recording project I had with my friend Mark. I wrote the music and played the guitars (with backing vox on a few songs) and Mark wrote the lyrics and sang. Brumidi never played live. Songs were recorded in Washington, D.C.
