Quarantine Emotional Roller Coaster - by @kiarcher 
Kiarash Zangeneh aka Kiarcher, born in south-west Iran and lived his adulthood in the city of Isfahan. Having fled home and after spending seventeen months in Istanbul in order to obtain his status as a refugee, Kiarash settled in Melbourne, Australia. From there, he continued his involvements to be part of the restoration of democracy in Iran while forging his new life as a queer artist working in multidisciplinary fields around identity, home and politics. This 1-hour set comes as a product of his pursuit in merging the aspects of his heritage with his newfound freedom. His journey from guilt to freedom and early experiences in the middle east are a source of inspiration which he draws upon rather than blame or wish it was different.

RADIOKARANTINA | Quarantine Emotional Roller Coaster - by Kiarcher

There are two sides to Cairo-based DJ and producer Hassan Abou Alam's sonic output. While one focuses on the ambient and atmospheric, the other is a form of organised chaos, that matches both synthetic and analogue sound.

These creations have landed on several labels over the last few years including Cologne's Traum Schallplatten, Audiolith and Morocco's Casa Voyager, as well as a very well received debut on Violet's naivety imprint, a sub-label of naive. Local label Rakete was another space for him this year, with him contributing a track to their Quest compilation, before making a return earlier this month for his first solo EP on the imprint, the aptly named Hope Amid Despair.

Following the release, we handed over the reigns to him for this week's Shine A Light On mix, which moves through the spaces between house, breaks, grime and bass. Get yourself acquainted...

Glasgow-based visual artist and Clyde Built Radio regular, Lizzie Urquhart is with us for the next hour playing a selection of soothing, enchanting and psychedelic folk music, featuring Scottish artist such as Ivor Cutler, Dick Gaughan and Donovan as well as contemporary Glasgow music from Quinie and Irma Vep.
