Arguing about cultural reconstruction is something we do not leave in the comment areas, we prefer to deal with it in our studios. So did MAUGLI with his genre-bending "Alba" release of the year 2021. Six ambitious musicians were hired to reconsider the organic sounds of "Alba" from yet another background.

Exploration Tapes: Tries to show other sides of artists and their private record collection. Taking us on a ride far off the club setting and letting us get to know the artists a little more and a little different than normally.

A personal journey through trip-hop variants; painting dark, mystic, bluesy, romantic and hopeful moods with a “little-or-no-kick” fun, also known as ambient.
Exploration Tapes is just the kind of mix series I want to be involved in, as I always love the chance to share another facet of my collection with the style and rhythm that somehow reflect my state of mind.

This set is different. Maks aka Techija describes in haunting words and music what Russia's war against his home country Ukraine means to him:

"I recorded this set after 100 days of Putin's war against the Ukrainian people.
All compositions are mainly “pre-war”, because I really want to turn back, cancel all this horror, but, unfortunately, this is impossible.
Time does not stand still and now we live in a new reality. The war will definitely end with the victory of Ukraine, the victory of adequate sense and the victory of all mankind over this evil.
This set is my anti-war manifesto, I declare that I want to live in a better world where there is no violence, no genocide, racism or fascism."

It is again unbelievable how lies, violence and propaganda make people compliant, so that they themselves are broad with the most absurd reasons to use violence. Fuck wars.

 This 2nd VA gathered by the reptilian mafia presents a darker side than the first compilation. You will get to hear some delicate sound design from Paris-based bass addict Machka, some deep and mellow brainfucking downtempo from Swiss duo Los Pashminas, and heavy industrial breaks from our friend Mawen, sound engineer of our first release and talented producer based in Bordeaux. Oceya turns the next page with a psychedelic soulful downtempo track, tingling your agmydala with her distorted vocoded voice, opening the path for Toulouse-based bass music queen Jan Loup and her high detailed and overdriven footworking dubstep. Danniel Dhnl follows with his classic gimmicks of "Tribal Guaracha" straight from México, then Nour Kara also from Toulouse, delivers a dark technoïd yet organic tribute to Iranian women fighting for freedom. To close the deal, Da Iguana & Doko Modo prepared some trancey downtempo rooted in earth but crossing the cosmos, Islyz a heavy drum & bass track with reptile skin-like textures, and our close friend Meo is the goodbye giver, with some forest-infused, muddy yet delicate "popperstep" made with his good old octatrack. This compilation is a powerful source of energy, a medicine for cold blooded people, and thus, had to be called Gator Aid.

"é uma pista quack (it's a quack dancefloor)" pretty much sums up how unique playing for quack is. i'm always inebriated with love (also) when i play for those people and  i always try to make it special for me too by trying some of my crazyest planned antics and my most insane improvs live. for this edition, i got the warm up, on a sunday afternoon, so no place for the 120-130bpms i have been playing for quite some time now... it had to be creamy, dense, packed full of psychedelia and some batuque, so i decided to play an 85bpm set, something i haven't done for at least 4 or 5 years. and since it was all improv, i had to dig deep in my hippothalamus, driving slow down memory lane and done this 3 hour-long journey into some oldies and some newies slowed and slurred down to this mushy wooshy set full of some of my most beloved gems. all love to quack and it's ducks and ducklings, all props to the artists presented below in the tracklisting, sorry for messing up your tracks to bend to my will =P
