Henry J. Jackson III goes by the stage name of "Hen-Jay", and his journey began in the fall of 1998, after the untimely death of his grandfather at age 11 going on 12. In the summer of 1999, Hen-Jay and two other childhood friends formed a trio rap group. He decided to play the role of a Record Producer/Songwriter for the group since he had the equipment and picked-up recording techniques from his uncle, who was formerly a local radio announcer/DJ.

Years later the trio rap group was scouted out by Koch Records and unfortunately didn't get signed, so Hen-Jay envisioned on launching his own record label. At age 16, Hen-Jay begin to write lyrics, create beats, scout out and record neighborhood artists, as well as learning the legal aspects while forming his record label. At the age of 21, Hen-Jay structured and legalized his record label-imprint, S-Town Records. At the age of 24, Hen-Jay decides to pursue a solo career and released his first Single entitled "Im Ah Teach Ya".
