First 100 mins of my set from the opening night of Ben UFO's XOYO residency(Full SPRING '18 programme benufolondon.co.uk)

Joy & Ben were running b2b all night long downstairs, setting off on a 160 trip, so here's me setting the alternative to that as people came into the club.

Ben and I have been friends for over 10 years, from early trips to FWD>> and my time as resident at Detonate in the midlands in the mid 00's. At our Standard Place and Lightworks parties Ben never failed to slay, so was an honour to be included on the lineup for his opening night of these London shows.

Being able to start a room from silence is a great opportunity to take your time in setting the tone for the rest of the night, something I appreciate greatly from my times as a resident myself and from my time working at Plastic People.

Together Apart with Dustin Lynn (Dukes of Chutney / BIS)

A mix bag of stuff I’ve discovered at Oye record shop up the street from me here in Berlin as well as some unreleased remixes and originals. The record shop was closed for a large portion of the lockdown, but thankfully they would often change their window displays with the new records that interested them, and I would pass by from time to time to peak thru the glass. 

Dukes of Chutney, studio sorcerers behind 2012's Domino EP, return from the fringe with Hazel, their debut full-length for Beats In Space. Hazel is illustrated from a colorful palette of dub, folk, Balearic, and otherwise blissful sounds, somehow escaping categorization in its pursuit of uninhibited joy.

A limited, green and blue double vinyl edition is available now on webstore / Bandcamp, and their video for "Little War (feat. Wovette)", is here. A portion of proceeds will support Amazon Frontlines and their mission to fight for indigenous peoples' rights to land and life.

“Hazel” the next Dukes of Chutney album, out in digital realms on Aug. 28, and as a deluxe double LP on  Sept. 4 via Beats In Space Records
