Steven Universe - Stronger Than You (Remix)

I love this show, it's got some great characters, entertaining stories, just the right amount of absurdity and a lot of heart. It's also got a wonderful soundtrack, courtesy of the talented duo of Aivi & Surasshu, whose jazz piano + chiptune style has some interesting parallels to my own metal + orchestra approach. So here's my tribute to the wonderful music of Steven Universe, a 12 minute whirlwind tour of Steven's world done in my usual Symphonic Metal style. Translating some of this music led me in some rather odd directions, but I had a lot of fun doing this :)

So the week of Sardonyx is over and the Crewniverse beat me to the punch with Garnet approaching Pearl about her recent actions (previous to the lying to form sardonyx. I couldn't predict that)

I was gonna go all out and make it an awesome wall of sound but seeing as this song is now superfluous, I just did a quick one take demo, seeing as I HAD finished writing it...

It was not uncommon for young boys to be used as drummers in war. In battle, the instruments often meant the difference between victory and defeat, even though the musicians had no weapons to defend themselves with, but stood there in the battle alarm with a pipe or drum and played hour after hour. However, it was precisely these who stood at the forefront and were also the ones who were killed first.

Music was a communication center during battles, while at the same time symbolizing the collective will to fight and thus the very reason why one fought; that is, for the nation or homeland.

Marceline sings everything stays to conclude Stakes! The Adventure Time Mini-Series. We understand that this isn't Steven Universe, but Steven Universe is on hiatus till' 2016, so why not pay respect to a show that has pushed to create a fantastic and epic mini-series and to Rebecca Sugar (creator of Steven Universe) who wrote this song. Hats off to the AT crew!
