That day – like all other days in recent years – Martha’s electric wheelchair ground to a halt at the edge of the dark forest which is half a mile from her home.  At age 100, she’s by far the oldest inhabitant of the village and despite her frail legs, still in excellent mental health.  Since her childhood, she remembers the somewhat scary tales about this forest, with strange things happening like distant voices or sudden glimpses of a mysterious young woman wearing a long white dress.  There is absolutely no proof of these tales, although some people are convinced that something weird is happening at that place in a parallel dimension.  Anyway, for Martha these woods have always had a pleasant energy, and her daily trips with her wheelchair gave her a moment of quiet happiness every day, all year round.
But that day something strange happened … at her age her hearing is not what it used to be, but Martha was sure to hear mystic female voices singing in the distance.  She rode her wheelchair a couple of meters further and checked whether she heard the same.  Again she heard the sweet voices and they seemed to call her.  Martha got up from her wheelchair and walked a few steps into the forest.  Her legs were surprisingly strong so she decided to venture deeper into the woods, into the direction of the mesmerizing voices.  Strangely, Martha’s legs gradually got stronger and stronger as she continued walking.  After a pretty long walk, the voices were really close now and finally she saw the mysterious singers.  There were 2 young women in long white dresses singing sweetly, one woman with mesmerizing green eyes and long brown hair, the other with South-East Asian features and very long black hair … a young witch and a nymph.  They welcomed Martha and they sang a few more mystic songs together.  And when Martha looked at her own hands, she noticed that all wrinkles had gone.  She felt 20 years old again.  And when the women started to dance, Martha joined them effortlessly without the slightest hesitation.  After finishing with the singing and dancing, the women showed Martha the way to the Nymph’s Pond, where they took a dive in the crystal-clear water.  It was the first time in 35 years that Martha went for a swim and she thoroughly enjoyed it for a prolonged time.  Actually, she used to be an excellent swimmer in her younger days.  And after that, they took a rest in the soft sun of the Indian summer on a carpet of soft moss.  They enjoyed their lazy afternoon, until Martha suddenly saw a bright yellow little dress hanging on the lowest branch of a nearby tree.  Her heart jumped from joy when she realized it was exactly the same as her favorite dress when she was a child.  At that moment she noticed she had become very small and she realized she was a child now, with the soft blond curly hair like she used to have as a kid.  The witch and the nymph led little Martha to a big glade in the middle of the forest, full of lush green grass and colorful flowers.  She got in an ebullient mood and played with the butterflies and rolled in the grass in her yellow dress.  She had never felt happier of her whole life …

Unsere Nummer 25 hat der sehr begabte Wiener, leschueft für uns zusammen gestellt. Wir kennen und schätzen ihn jetzt schon, seit fast einem Jahr, als er uns mit einem seiner ersten Sets auf Soundcloud sehr begeistern konnte. Seine ruhigen, stimmigen und herzvollen Arbeiten zeigt er mittlerweile in den bekanntesten Podcastserien wie u.a. bei Room84, Electronic Groove, Deepist, Sunset Grooves... Umso mehr freuen wir uns, dass er sich dieses mal für uns die Zeit für genommen hat.

Wie und wann bist du zur elektronischen Musik gekommen?

Mit 16 Jahren bin ich von französischem HipHop zum franz. House (Étienne de Crecy, Superfunk, Daft Punk,...) gerutscht. Lange Zeit war ich dann auf Drum’n’Bass eingestellt, bis ich vor 9 Jahren auf Minimal gestoßen bin. Von da an ging die Reise über Deep House und Techno, bis ich im Hier und Jetzt bei Downtempo gelandet bin. Big Love!

Welche musikalischen Momente sind dir besonders in Erinnerung geblieben?

Besonders in Erinneurng geblieben sind mir genau drei Momente: Flex, Fusion und Heimlich! Im damals noch sehr vom Underground geprägten Flex habe ich Dj Bailey und MC Tali (Drum'n'Bass vom allerfeinsten) live erlebt. Mein Fusion-Erlebnis 2014 ist in einem Wort zusammen zu fassen: Unglaublich! Ende August diesen Jahres habe ich als Teil des Heimlich-Kollektivs einen wunderschönen Wald-Rave organisiert, den ich so schnell nicht vergessen werde.

Wo konnte man dich bisher antreffen?

Bisher war ich ein „Wohnzimmer-DJ“ und habe durch Podcasts auf Soundcloud kommuniziert. Zwei Mal habe ich fern meiner Zielgruppe bei einer Hochzeit und einer Vernissage aufgelegt und zwei Mal habe ich bis jetzt auch schon für die Downtempo-Crowd aufgelegt.  Das Feedback war enorm und hat mich in meinem Tun bestärkt.

Gibt es Zukunftspläne?

Oh ja, und wie! Ich bin seit kurzem bei dem Downtempo-Kollektiv Heimlich (@Heimlichaufsc) dabei, aber wir haben jetzt schon Großes vor. Im Moment sind wir voller Tatendrang in Wien Downtempo-technisch etwas voran zu bringen. Martha van Straaten kommt im September, Stiglitz & Bernstein kommen Anfang Oktober und Caleesi kommt Mitte Oktober. Bei letzterem Event bin ich Support Act. Irgendwann wollen wir auch in Berlin spielen.

Unsere Nr. 133 kommt heute von einem altbekannten Wegbegleiter unsererseits, der uns bereits seit den Anfängen im Netz begleitet. So richtig ‚Klick‘ hat es mit seinem damaligen Set für „Voll Schön“ gemacht. Schwebend leichte Sphären, tiefenwirksame Bassarrangements und verspielte Melodien gehen bei Ihm stets Hand in Hand. 

Die Rede ist von „JACOB GROENING“, der in seiner Wahlstadt Berlin, nämlich voll schön mäßig, sein Unwesen treibt und sich mittlerweile als Produzent einen Namen gemacht hat. Neben seinen unzähligen Veröffentlichungen und Remixe für MUZO, Amselcom, Steyoyoke und Rebellion der Träumer, um nur einige zu nennen, verköstigt er uns ab und zu auch mit seinem einzigartigen Gespür für Trackarrangements, die sich in Form von herrlichen Podcasts niederschlagen. Aber auch als Act ist er ein vielgefragter Mann. Neben Auftritten in Deutschland bereist er auch Clubs und Festivals rund um den Globus (https://www.songkick.com/artists/6476519-jacob-groening). Vollkommen zu Recht.

Das von Ihm eingespielte Set ist eine wundervolle und vielseitige Reise durch verspielte, melodische und verträumte Klanglandschaften. Als besonderes Schmankerl reichert er das Set mit Acidlines und einer gehörigen Portion Deepness an. Seine Mission ist eindeutig: Nämlich eine tanz- und traumbare Afterhoursession hinzulegen. Und wie!!! Als besonderes Special sind zwei kommende Neuerscheinungen mit von der Partie. Seid gespannt.

Wir danken Dir vielmals für dieses besondere Set Jacob. Dein Set ist eine wundervolle, 'afterhourreske' Geschichte geworden, die Wir nicht missen möchten und definitiv über unsere Grenzen hinaus Herzen erobern wird. Wenn Unikat, dann Hier. Chapeu.
