I'm not a musician, I'm a software engineer with a busy schedule. I use music for fun and relaxation only.
This is how I use Soundcloud:
- I play a Yamaha silent guitar with  nylon strings (has an in-built preamp and some effects).
- I use GarageBand for iPhone to record.
I give myself three weeks to complete a new song / arrangement. Since I have precious little time to reherse, I publish the best take I can do within that timebox, even if it contains mistakes. I don't mind that - I'm not supposed to sound like a pro.
Everything I publish is under the Creative Commons License, use it for whatever purpose you like!
