This was a special gig to me. I had the honor to play music in the Museum Ludwig, right in the shadow of our Cologne Cathedral. The 4th of may was actually the first warm & sunny day of the year, so my personal mission was to project this vibe into the museum to underline the art with relaxed music. Gotta luv Bikini Beach! I had the pleasure to play there twice on the "Season Closing 2023" weekend. Here is a live recording of my complete dj set from saturday 16.9.2023 (18.00 - 22.00). The full range of a proper beach house party. From hanging out in the sunshine, via hiding from the rain (when Kerri Chandler´s "Rain" is playing), into heavy dancing under the stars. I hope you´ll enjoy the set!

Before it was called House

one night in 2001 (I guess) my homie Stefan had booked the Chicago & Hip House legend Fast Eddie to the Tiefenrausch Club in Cologne. We grew up with Rap music and loved Hip House. Our cronie Pumpmasta Roland was so hyped by the presence of the Chi-Town royality, that he left the club to go home to search his Fast Eddie 12". It took hours until he came back with the vinyl to the club, that had almost emptied.

We threw on the record and then the magic happend. Early morning bliss in the DJ booth. Mc Pumpmasta Roland gave the introduction and then Eddie himself spit his lyrics live over the "Yoyo Get Funky" vinyl. Luckily we were so aware to record this moment on MiniDisc. Amen

Born in Washington D.C. and raised in Cologne Henri Kohn was educated in his early years by his fathers extensive collection of jazz and quality black music. After been revolutionized by rap music and taking part in breakdancing competitions in his youth Henri was kissed by the beauty of house, taping music from the radio.

By the age of 15, he sneaked himself into the Cologne nightlife dancing the night away in dark and sweaty clubs and in 1993, by the age of 17, he landed his first residencies at various clubs in Cologne, playing Chicago and Detroit influenced sound.

Since then Henri has become a pillar of the house scene in Germany, with residencies at most of the top clubs in the area and other German cities, as well as successful spots on the Balearic Islands.
Henri has taken the step up to the international DJ circuit in the last few years and has played all over Germany, in the U.S, France, Spain, Greece, Ukraine, Switzerland, Poland, Italy and the U.K.

To him House Music is a Healer that brings people from all cultural backgrounds together on the same dancefloor to have a good time. Henri Kohn is known to bring people in the Zone with his skills of reading the crowd and picking the right record at the right time.

No matter if bigroom, frontroom, backroom, terrace or the beach, he loves preaching his vision of house to any crowd, thanks to a wide horizon and taste of electronic music to choose from.

With extensive radio experience, deejaying for corporate events, cd compiling, label management & songwriting, Henri continues to be an in-demand DJ.
