Get Physical Radio #116 - Tamer Malki

Simultaneously with the announcement of our 15th Watergate-Compilation, we are also proud to present the number 15 of our vinyl series.

The man behind the black wax is Mathias Kaden, whose exclusive track now finds its new home in our label catalogue - with "Fin" he literally marked the end of his compilation which was released in this year's summer. The track warms up with an aesthetically-stumbling beat pattern, gathers speed attended by rattling hi-hats and suddenly turns into a smooth piano-break. After this grace period the allround-tool unfolds its full force and tramps down on the dancefloor.

No less a figure than Josh Wink contributed a remix to this bomb. The Ovum-Records boss interpreted "Fin" in his habitual freethinker-attitude as a hypnotic-house track in a totally new context. Dopey bleeps wriggle through the drums and leave woozy traces in the audiences' heads.

"Fin" appears on January 20 on vinyl & digital. The digital EP also contains the exclusive tracks from Rodriguez Jr. and Christian Burkhardt from Mathias Kaden's Watergate 14 compilation.

Firstly we have the Christian Cambas remix, this is some serious pumpin action with that sexy as hell rolling baseline. This is nu style techno at its finest. A jaw dropping remix, insanely good. Then we have tough pumping remix from Spain&#8217;s Eric Sand, which really grooves and makes great use of Miquel&#8217;s parts. Next up is another Spanish young techno producer Mario Montero. Mario&#8217;s remix is very progressive sounding techno and some of his best work. Next up is the UK&#8217;s infamous Mark Anxious and Chrissi. Owners of the Blackout Audio label. This is tough hard techno at its ultimate best, an incredible pounding remix, amazing techno without a doubt. Lastly but not least we have Slovenia&#8217;s very own Veztax with his own trademark techno sound that always works on the dance floor.

Christian Cambas is a DJ and producer based in Athens, Greece. He is mostly known for his releases on DJ Umeks 1605 label and his entry at number 88 of the DJ Mag Top 100 poll in 2005. Besides 1605, he has released records on labels such as Toolroom, Great Stuff, Craft Music, Bedrock and many others.

Eric Sand is co-owner, along with J. Vitoria, seals &#8220;Xtremetech Records&#8221; and &#8220;Tech Critikal Records&#8221;. Already a recognised DJ of techno promise Almeria (Spain), mixing techno &amp; tribal samberos. He has played along with the likes of Cristian Varela, Ben Sims, Paul Mac, Kevin Saunderson, Surgeon, Sven Wittekind, Robert Natus &amp; Fatima Hajji.

Mario Montero was born in Oporto (Spain) in 1987, his taste for electronic music started in 2001 having his first contact at djing in 2002, since then his taste for techno has evolved so much that he was devouring almost all styles of techno, influenced by techno producers such as Carl Cox, Jimmasters, Umek, Marco Bailey, Valentino Kanzyani, Oliver Oh and many others.

The Anxious are Mark Anxious and Chrissi, who have been producing under this name since 1998. Their sound is characteristically dark and uncompromising, with a musical message that many have imitated, but failed to deliver. They burst onto the techno scene with a series of punishing releases on some of the worlds top electronic labels of the time, as well as their own Blackout Audio imprint.

Veztax is an example of rare breed artist who prefers to dictate his own trend rather than following the herd. He has become synonymous for energetic techno. After two decades of throwing parties, producing music, performing all over the Europe and managing the respected label Vezotonik, hes now considered an leader on his home techno scene.

Since his first EP debuted in 2010, Ross Evans has been building a steady catalogue of solid releases on labels such as Get Physical, Saved Records, Cocoon Recordings, and Cécille Records, just to name a few.  Having already attained widespread respect from DJs around the world in just a few short years, Ross has managed to firmly establish his name within the community of electronic dance music.
His newest EP on Mobilee’s little sister Leena Music is another intriguing chapter in Ross Evans’ story.  True to his signature style with roots in House while adding a Techno flair, melodic undertones, and just enough funk to keep it all tightly woven together, Ross Evans has delivered another solid release.

The title track “Caliente” starts the magnificent journey; its pounding kick drum is sure to make any club roar with excitement and energy but never loses its feel-good House music vibe.  Next on our journey, we reach a more melodic detour with “Part Of The Dream,” a little softer than the title track it takes us to an imaginary dream land with melancholic synth lines and soft whispers that lead us to  “Walk Of Shame” another melodic trip but this time less dreamy and more driving with a funky bassline that adds just enough attitude to keep us moving. After taking us this far on our adventure, our final stop is, “Asylum,” a safe haven where you can feel warm and secure. A place where we can decompress from our recent adventure through a land of excitement and diversity.
